If Norv Turner Leaves?

I would like to see a shake up. I'm not satisfied with what we are getting from Cam. He is capable of doing more if we put him in the right situation.

But Norv is a bum. He's been coaching off reputation for 20 years. The Charges went downhill when Schottenheimer left. Washington Redskins? Cleveland Browns? Come on man.

Nope. Shula will probably be back next season.

Fans always hate their OCs. We hated Henning, then Davidson, then Chud, now Shula. If we hired Norv we would hate him too.

I liked Henning and Chud except his last year he was all about himself.

Henning was good, I liked him. Davidson is kind of like Shula. How could you watch us go 0 for 3 in the Redzone and say Shula is safe?

We scored TDs on 58% of our red zone visits this season.  That is good for top 10 in the league

9 of 16 games were against top half of the NFL defenses.

So one game doesn't make me want to fire everyone.  If you look at the entire body of work this season we were pretty successful on offense.

That is unless you judge everything by total yardage and/or total points.

We can still improve however.

Norv is a bum HC, nowhere near a bum OC. x10 Shula will ever be

I don't see much difference between Chud and Norv Turner.  They usually have lots of yards, but his teams also is near the bottom in INTs and turnovers.  It is all very much high risk, high reward

There is a reason why Chud and Norv teams always have a lot of yards, but not a lot of wins

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
