Also, according to that site the Cowboys are fuuuuuuugged!

Man, I cut 7 players 2 of which were June1 cuts (Free, Austin, Carter among them) and they STILL needed 10 million just to get under the cap.

Ware and Witten will have to do MAJOR restructures.

So I've been messing with this and we need Gettleman to really work some magic.

We start out with 16 mil in space. I made Delo and Godfrey June 1st cuts to get us to 21-22 mil.

I gave the following extensions:

Ginn - 3 years, 8 mil

Captain - 2 years, 6 mil

Senn - 2 years, 780K per

Mitchell - 4 years, 16 mil

Gano - 2 years, 4 mil

Scott - cheap deal, don't remember exactly

And then I did the Cam extension.

6 years, 96 mil (30 guaranteed)

At this point we are 3 mil over and I haven't even touched Kraken or thought about LaFell, DA, Bell, Gross or the other UFAs.

I know these contracts are just random numbers and will be a little off but it still shows that we could be in trouble. I just don't see how we can tag or resign hardy AND extend Cam AND fill the other holes. It'll be an interesting offseason.

Those are some pretty generous extensions, except for Gano who will probably get more than that.  I can't imagine Ginn, Capt, or Mitchell getting those kinds of offers.  Also, I may be wrong, but I think Cam's already under contract for next season so an extension wouldn't go into effect until the following season although I don't know how the bonus money would impact this upcoming years cap if he signed the extension this offseason.  Hope we can keep all of the guys you listed though, just at a bit of a lower price.

Godfrey was good as gone after his injury. Jstew will have to take a pay cut not a restructure or he will be cut june 1st not to save money but to clear the books. I could see Mitchell getting a new contract but other than that everyone is on the bubble.

    • Honestly, the guy does a TON of good research. His videos are always high quality and his insight is always stellar.  This video however changed my mind...dramatically about the draft.  Anyone who's seen my opinions knows Im a all in BPA guy, HOWEVER, this kind of changed my mind...Im now a BPA...at position of value dictated by the board.  A lot of words to say, weighted average is important. We all all know that having a good qb on a rookie contract is important, but what about a good edge...or reciever...or tackle?  THOSE things make a different and this opened my eyes to that.  With that said, not that I think we SHOULD go receiver in the first, HOWEVER, IT DOES MAKE SENSE.  If you have good young recievers coming in on rookie contracts, then you have more to build the rest of the roster at a lower cost.  If we were a team loaded at Receiver then things would be different, however, we only truly have 2 reliable WRs, so would another Receiver be a bad pick...I actually dont think so now based on value going forward.  Its just something to consider for everyone.
    • Yeah, it's fool's gold. Darnold always had the tools. He just needed a tram with an elite D, a top 5 WR, and a Super Bowl MVP RB to carry him so he wouldn't be asked to press where he becomes a turnover machine. Darnold settled in once he was in a situation where he could just be a very talented game manager. People try to tell themselves Bryce can do that without realizing that Darnold still forces the D to respect the throws he can make that the coaches would rather he not attempt where as Bryce simply doesn't have the physical ability to force that respect opening up other opportunities. Like Parcells said leading up to the draft that based on his physical tool set "he better walk on water". What he was politely trying to say is that Bryce simply doesn't have an NFL physical tool set.
    • Got home in time to see Halls goal in the 3rd. Saw replays of Staal and LeCuck dropping gloves on the faceoff loved that! Playoff Freddie entered the building  woo! Hope to see the full replay on Fandual.
