Rivera was named the NFC Coach of the Year after guiding the Panthers to a 12-4 regular-season record and the NFC South title. Carolina won 11 of its final 12 regular-season games after a 1-3 start.

Kuechly was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league's second-ranked defense in tackles, including a 24-tackle effort against New Orleans in Week 16.

The winners will be presented trophies at the 44th annual gala on March 1 in Kansas City.

What are the NFL 101 awards?

Following each National Football League season, a civic organization called “The Committee of 101” hosts the 101 Awards, Kansas City’s Salute to Professional Football. This nationally-renowned event was initiated in 1969 by a group headed by Kansas City businessman Jack O. Wheeler to honor outstanding achievements in professional football.

The reputation and prestige of the 101 Awards is widely recognized throughout the NFL. From the coaches and players who are honored each year, to team owners and league executives who lead the NFL business affairs, the 101 is regarded as the nation’s best football awards event of its kind.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
