So eat the remainder of Bradfrod's contract, massive dead cap money all accelerated to 2014.

Gotta figure Bridgewater goes to Houston so you pass on Jadeveon Clowney for Johnny Football or Bortles?

Then besides the dead QB money you sign the rookie QB for ~ 4 yrs/25mill?

Yikes.

But OK, sure.

The Bradford contract just looks so bad because they were the last team to sign a #1 overall pre Rookie salray cap.

We got lucky with Cam the next year at about 40% of the cost.

Sucks to be the Rams.

Depends on how much they like the QB class. I think if you see a situation where the Texans trade for Ryan Mallett, the Rams would have their pick of QB's.

Also cutting Bradford only hits the Rams with $7 million in dead cap in comparison to the $17 million salary Bradford earns in 2014.

Exactly.

And for me cutting Jake Long earlier, same thing like Bradford: 7mil in dead cap.

"Since the St. Louis Rams selected quarterback Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, they have yet to make the postseason, and Bradford is 18-30-1 as the starter. He only played in seven games in 2013 after tearing his ACL.

With two first-round picks in the 2014 draft, including the second overall selection, the Rams have the opportunity to start over at the quarterback position if they so desire. Bradford carries a massive cap number into 2014 at $12.595 million, and he hasn't yet shown that he's the quarterback to lead the Rams into the promised land.

ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner reported that Rams general manager Les Snead remains "committed" to Bradford, but that could simply be pre-draft posturing. He is no lock to return in 2014, regardless of what Snead says. If the Rams fall in love with one of the top quarterbacks, it shouldn't come as a surprise if they part ways with Bradford." Yea, Im pretty good at this poo.

The Dallas Cowboys Cut:

1) TE Jason Witten 4 years 33 mil $8 cap     ($6)

2) WR Miles Austin  4 years 40 mil $10 cap  ($7)

Dallas now has $12 cap space.

the Browns are releasing QB Jason Campbell. adding $1 in cap space.

Im not being a tattle teller, but how can L-town cut: Ware, Carr, Scandrick, Witten, and Austin, but I cant cut Long and Bradford?

That's insane.

    • Nope Still missing it. Let's try this a different way... You have two quarterbacks from schools that ran the same kind of offense - maybe even two from the same school - on a given team (not necessarily the Panthers). One is designated the starter while the other is named the backup. Why?
    • yeah, pretty sure boss.....when things match and fit in the NFL.....the results then show it.  and when they don't, well, the results show that as well.  Bryce doesn't fit.   *but I get why late season and wants to argue with everyone Mr. Scot has also turned into a please don't talk to me about stats guy as well.  Given, the stats that reflect offensive productivity work against all your present arguments.
    • Yeeeah...stats and rankings have zero to do with a discussion of scheme and skill set match. Maybe look up definitions of style vs ability and see if that helps. At this point, you've basically had three different people explain to you where you're wrong, but rather than addressing any of those statements, you're just resorting to straight deflection.  You don't get it. Either that or you're acting like you don't get it so that you can avoid the discussion because it's not going well for you. (that wouldn't surprise me either) 😄 Sme result either way, I suppose.
