The Texans do have a great D. The difference here is that Houston decided to dial it in after a few injuries and losses. If you think time of possession is why Carolina won 12 games, then you weren't watching our defense at all.

You can't start by saying the Texans had a great D and immediately follow it up up with a reason they only one 2 games. Do you understand that 3 teams in the AFC South are picking top 10 and 2 of them are picking top 5. Wasn't the claim that a good D without Cam would guarantee the team 7 wins? if the Texans couldn't get 7 wins in their crappy division what makes you think we'd get 7 in the NFC. Time of possession was this team's strong point this year. That's a fact. I didn't make it up. In the NFL, if you consistently keep the other team's offense on the sideline by converting 3rd downs you have a great chance of success. This is not new stuff.

This game really shows me that Cam has really started to get it. He's playing very well with players he's never played with.

And so is Derrick a Johnson. People like Cam, he seems to be a like able person so others are willing to play for him.

Couldn't imagine if we got a Dez or Patterson to go along with Cam though. They don't like to man up on us because Cam will run but with a guy like that they would have to.

      You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).

      In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
