Greg Hardy waiting on phone call, 'crapload' of money

I'm curious how much he thinks he's worth.

It's a good bit. But I'm starting to get the impression it isn't actually what he really is worth.

I think he threw out the 110 million dollars on purpose, he might just think he's worth a 100 million dollar contract. I think if he doesn't get tagged that he'll end up with a deal close to 90 million over 6 years. Peppers/Allen money.

as much as it pains me to agree with csx, it is becoming rather distasteful that everytime im linked to a greg hardy quote it typically some statement arranged with the following words

"money, bank, worth, much, more, get mine, im going to"

We get it you like money. At first i hoped it was a joke or an attempt to strengthen your bargaining position after you weakened with the hometown discount remark, but now im really just tired of hearing you validate every negative thing people feel about NFL players.

I dont understand what he thinks he will accomplish by going on and on about the money. Its becoming quite un appealing. It would be in his best interest to just shut up about it. Let his agent do the talking out of site.

He is attempting himself, I can't fault him for that but at the same time he is going to end up on a shitty team and as the focal point his numbers will go down.

If he smart and concerned about w's and stats he would take a 3-4 contract on a paycut and let the cap situation work itself out before he gets all money money money

On Total Access after the Honors show, he did a guest spot. It was pretty obvious Kraken had money on the mind, but he also talked about loving the team and praised Smitty. He glowed about Ol' Riverboat and kept talking about the family mentality that the Panthers have. Granted, it's not like he was gonna say, "I love the Panthers, but I'm chasing dolla dolla bills"... So take it for what it's worth. He did sound sincere though.

Maybe the Peppers fiasco makes me feel like this but... does anyone else feel like once Hardy gets paid he isn't even going to try anymore?

+1

I get very figgity when players start throwing out dollars signs

He is not 1/4 of the freak Peppers was on top of it and potential could want 100 mil

No fuging way we could even do that.

We have an offense to build

He's been in the top 5 in QB hits, Pressures and Sacks each of the last two seasons. Before that he was getting real nice % numbers based on his low snap count. He hasn't been just a one hit wonder, he's young and has got better each year in the league.

So we have two DE who could be approaching 200 mill into total salary. You can't win games without an offense.

Unless hardy can catch and block, he can roll

Now if it was between Johnson and Hardy, Hardy for sure but the bad contracts killed the cap space

All the money, money, money talk does make you wonder.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
