His like first 3 breakout games, especially against the Chiefs, were beyond ridiculous.

The Cowboys have often benefitted from the same kind of media hype that used to help the Yankees make ridiculous trades.

 

Essentially, "Every player who plays for the Cowboys is an All Pro and you should give up high draft picks or big money to acquire them."

 

Except these days (in both cases) nobody much is falling for it anymore.

Austin has David Gettis type hamstrings.....theiy're always giving him problems. If he stays healthy - he'd definitely be an upgrade.

Well, I tend to mostly agree with your point. The thing is though is that there is always that chance that a player can get over their proneness for injury (which is sometimes just bad luck), and resume once promising careers. Like Sidney Rice (and Nicks to a degree), Miles Austin has shown that at times he can be a very effective, if not a devastating offensive weapon. Moreover, because we are "cap challenged", possible targets in free agency will probably come with a certain amount of baggage (i.e., risk).  If the desire is there, and the situation and price is right, a roll of the dice could be in order. Or not.

Having J Stew is bad enough. Not sure I could stand having another guy that is going to be hurt in training camp and eventually put on IR.
