Combine Winners and Losers: Day One (Bucky Brooks)

Yep. I was disappointed too, but can't let this weekend close the door on ASJ. Here's hoping/thinking RR/DG aren't that close minded either.

For ASJ, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I still see him going in the Top 25. Since he did fracture his foot, though, we could have an outside shot of drafting him. My only concern with that, though, is that there is loads of talent at TE that will be available in the deeper rounds.

This Draft is really, really awesome.

Don't see Mewhort making it to our pick. Might have to pull the trigger on him if no #1 WR,TE or DB is available at #28 or trade down.

Most likely picks at #28

TE Amaro

CB Gilbert

OT Moses

OT Mewhort

WR Cooks

Moses or better prospect in the first as far as OL goes, other wise it's a horrible reach.  He's like the 35th rated prospect, Mewhort is in the 60's and 70's. No way you take him at 28. Cooks, Beckham, and a few other WR's will be worth the 28th pick, Moses, Gilbert (not likely to be there) or ASJ/Amaro because of value.

A couple of the guys on nfl network (who are covering the combine) have said that 9-10 WR's could go I. The first round. Not sure if the 10th best WR is the right pick at 28. Gotta go bpa

There;s a few picks past the Panther's plus most have the Panther's taking a WR.

Then on top of that

The top CB's with first round grades will be gone, the top 1-2 TE's will be gone, the top OT's with clear first round grades will be gone (there's only 4 now.)

Watkins, Lee, Evans, Benjamin, Cooks, Beckham = first round grades. Robinson, Landry, Matthews = early 2nd round picks.

BPA will most likely be WR, even if it's the 7th/8th guy on the board. At least talent that fits Carolina, I still think Cooks will be there because of his size.

    • First, am I wrong? I looked back over all his posts here and I didn't see anything positive other than Shough. Second, pretty sure if you had read the post I was responding to, you would have seen CRA made poo personal as well . You just choose to address me instead of him. Not sure why?????
    • I wanted XL but I felt he should have been a 2nd rounder but I understand the logic trading up just to get the option. A safety net for your gamble.    Certainly disappointed with his receivers development but i like his down field blocking and I imagine that's what's keeping him on the field.
    • Pretty sure it is a given Young lacks typical QB size and strength and he is here simply because his other attributes more than make up for it. My point is not to indicate anyone "settled" for him but rather to remind people that there have been plenty of big, strong QB's that have not lived up to expectations. Jamis Winston, Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, JaMarcus Russel are a few examples. They all have the physical attributes coveted by teams and yet none have had sustained success in the NFL. And yes, there are QBs that do have both but there aren't many and some of the ones still playing were failures with their early teams. Saying Young is a bust simply based upon his size (and I do think it is as simple as that for a few guys around here) is unfair to both him and the team.
