Bill Voth on Steve Smith's Situation. Basically, It Isn't Over.

I attacked no posters in this thread.

So I have the nerve to question the irresponsible lazy journalism that runs rampant these days? How offensive.

You're basically being the very thing you are accusing others of. Lighten up.

The problem is Voth isn't being lazy , the guy has every reason to not post garbage and not sling poo against the wall to see if it sticks. Right now all he has is his word, he doesn't have major media backing him.

BV is definitely not being a lazy journalist.

Voth is no different than any other journalist. Yeah he was right about Gross, but the writing was already on the wall. We barely got him to come back last year. Deep down we all knew he was going to retire.

Red, the point is, I blocked you a few months ago because you were trolling.  Now i am seeing an increasingly large number of posts from you that follow my posts. I read a few--really wish you would just ignore me and my comments and stop trying to continue some pissing contest.  You are very condescending and sarcastic for no reason.  Others take issue with you as well.  You really need a hobby--not another obsession---a hobby this time.  Just find another person to stalk and work on your social skills.  Support your remarks and contribute.  Last time I am responding to you.

You know how you can tell trees something to the smith rumor? The fact the team didn't call him or return his agents calls. Also the fact that the team hasn't squashed the rumor at all, just fueled the fire with more non commitment answers.

The team isn't going to make a public announcement every time they talk to Steve Smith.

Their plan might be to cut him and sign Hakeem Nicks....interesting if they do.  Steve is such a huge figure for the team and he's still a valuable role player.  Of course he's not good for 1200+ yards anymore but he still made some big catches last year.

You want a link to WFNZ, or a link to me listening? The fool that is Marc James just reiterated this fact today.

Well, a link to any audio of him explicitly saying that. This is the first I've heard of it. Not saying you are lying, but I'm surprised that it wasn't a big deal when he said it then. I don't recall any discussion about it here, and I certainly imagine there would have been at the time.

After the Hardy tag, and the recent deals given to Riley Cooper, and Jeremy Maclin, that door is pretty much slammed shut now.

For now that's definitely true.  But if they cut Steve Smith, cut Godfrey, restructure Charles Johnson's contract, and make other salary cap saving moves....it's still possible.  But I don't think they'll go through all that trouble when they can get way cheaper players all over the roster that will be of more help than just getting one WR.
