What's the PFT? And no I do not.

PFT is pro football talk and there is a guy called qdog something or other that posts there on every Panthers article. He never misses a chance to bash Gettleman and he has a very similar tone so I thought I'd ask if it was you.

Not me, I don't want to seem like I'm bashing gettleman at all so I apologise if I come across like that, my only frustration is the lack of offensive talent we have both on the line and weapons, i just hope he addresses this in this years draft, he has done a great job thus far I can't knock him on that, I guess when you look at the bigger picture he had a hell of a task, I'm just an impatient fan.

Last year, in early March, we were way above the cap. Nobody saw the moves we would make, going 12-4, etc.  How can anyone with knowledge of Marty Hurney's last 3 years bash Gettlemen?

Draft:  He solified our DL to such a degree, we were the second best D in the NFL with a weak secondary.  He had 2 picks in the first 3 rounds.

Free Agency (bargain basement shopping):  2 starting Safeties, a rotational CB and a starting CB, a starting OLB, a starting DT, a key WR/KR, a starting LG, and (for a few games) a starting RG.

In fact, 3 undrafted free agents played key roles on the defense:  White CB, Lester, SS, and Horton DE.

This year, I think you will realize how good Klein, Barner, and T. King are.

If you think about how screwed up Marty Hurney left this team, what Gettlemen is doing is just short of a miracle.  I have confidence in his ability to put a good team on the field in 2014.

Hardy's cap number isn't gonna drastically come down. He wants 12-15 mil a year. Making his most expensive years in the years where we are trying to lock up Keuch isn't a good move. I personally think we just didn't want him to hit FA. If DG can make the numbers work so he doesn't impede Cam and Keuch then it'll be a good move. If not I think we still need to trade him.

Him playing on a 1-year deal isn't the end of the world either. IMO he's not going to top what he did this year. It gives us time to evaluate replacements in a year where we don't have to worry about other big name players.

I think Smith is done here tho if he doesn't take a massive paycut. He will end up being traded to another contender..most likely the Pats IMO. He'd fetch a 3rd or 4th round pick and we'd have more cap room as well. Hope he takes the cut but if not I don't see him as a Panther.

DGs eyes are on sustaining success this year and building a championship team in the following years...specifically the years where we have Keuch and Cam signed long-term and don't have massive cap restraints in the form of Stewart and Deangelo (who I wish we could just cut).

Don't apologize. The whole point of this boar is for people to talk about the Panthers and share their opinions. They're not always gonna be the same and people won't always agree blindly with the direction the team is headed for better or worse.

On the Hardy deal, a lot of what he will decide on for signing can be altered by the guaranteed part. He would sign the highest guaranteed deal even if it only pays 750k for 2 years

This response says a lot.

I'm not a gettleman fan, and as you know I don't give a fug who thinks otherwise. I remember everyone was excited when we resigned Stewart. Now it's the same situation at DE. He's put a lot of picks and money into that dline, I hope they can stay on the field and block for Cam.

Not to mention the Steve Smith situation. Don't forget he's the only WR that even played last year under contract. So you want to send Cam into 2014 with a make shift oline and 0 weapons, fantastic. He's got some work to do and blaming hurney needs to stop because he's digging his own ditch right now.
