I don't think this is racist.  Calling this racist is what keeps racism alive.  He likes to put in running QBs in his offense.  I know some white QBs can run well, but let's be honest, black people tend to have more lower leg strength and tend to run better, generally.   Just look at major sports.  There will be a few exceptions, but it is not coincidence that most running backs are black and the best ones, usually are also black.  Same with wide receivers and cornerbacks and other positions where running is huge.  I'm a white guy and I'm not silly enough to not realize that black people are, on average, going to be better runners.    There is also the theory that black people have higher twitch muscles leading to higher athleticism.  On the flip side, I've heard a lot of times white people are (generally) more suited for straight up strength instead of speed, like lineman, etc.  As always, there will be exceptions.   But watch the olympics, aren't most runners black and most swimmers white?  I only believe in coincidence to a point.   This is just genetics.  It's not racism, this is just who we are, and we should be proud that some of us are different, but in the end, we're all human.   I'm not going to knock someone for pointing out what he thinks is a fact based on evidence he's seen over the years.  If he was to come out and compare intelligence and personality traits, that would be racist though.

The jury might still be out in regard to swimming though.

Have read some of the same things.  Guess it is more of the 80/20 rule, but like in the worlds strongest man competition, it is dominated by a lot of these nordic dudes for the most part.  Slow as crap, but strong as a bull.

 

Not to say that there cannot be the exception and be really quick white athletes, but it is just not the norm.  Manziel after all is not extremely fast, just sort of shifty.  Luck, Cam and a host of others bettered his 40 time.

Are you sure about that? You gotta give your receivers a second chance to get open sometimes. Those physically gifted WRs are going against other physically gifted defensive players, you can't expect them to always be able to create separation in less than 3 second.

Seattle would have beaten any type of team they faced. Pocket passers or running qbs or dual threat qbs.

The beauty of the NFL is the ongoing chess match between def and off.

The 46 def was a direct counter to the original West Coast offense. Take away the two step drop and slants over the middle.

Then offenses adjusted to the 46. It will keep going.

Oregon has the amazing spread offense but cant win the National champ and cant seem to beat Stanford.

Rule changes happen each year and that causes even more adjustment and change.

The Seahaws OL is certainly not as stout at the Broncos yet they could barely touch him running circles around them. What if the Seahaws had 4 number 1 type WRs on their roster like the Broncos, how would a defense stop that? How would a defense stop Cam if Carolina had the weapons the Broncos had?

They weren't exactly beating up on Seattle, SF, Carolina twice like they did in their division. I'm sure you follow the panthers with Cam, with all the lack of weapons you have to admit though we're difficult to scheme against. Seattle couldn't do to Cam what they did to Peyton, especially with all the weapons and awesome OL. This is just a case of more is more. It logically make sense that of two QBs of equivalent passing skills the better runner would have the advantage. Denver's OL have to be perfect for Peyton to perform well and it was perfect against most of the finessed defenses it faced. When he goes against a defense that just threaten that security he folds. Yes, a statue behind a great OL or who throw quick passes against average defense will succeed.

 

It's not about code word. If Mariota is legitimately a pocket passer, with his mobility, he'll give defenses a problem. For how young the mobile QBs are, they're over-represented in the playoffs to the point of winning the SB. There are  so many statue type QBs in the league who's been around for a long time that just cannot win. Great D or not, Seattle wasn't a perennial playoffs team before Wilson made their offense hard to scheme against. Arizona and the Rams are very good teams with top notch defenses and offensive players yet are at the bottom of their division. Why is that? The QBs can throw the ball, they have franchise WRs, good OL but they're still the beating drums of Seattle and SF. I don't know one team in past or present that is perennially mediocre with a mobile QB. Even though the Redskins sucked last year, they still hold the prospect of turning it around. In fact, it was national news that they weren't good. The expectation for mobile QBs is much higher.

 

Steve Mcnair, McNabb, Vick, Cam, RG3, Kaepernick, Wilson, Teb0w, and the likes always keep their teams relevant and in playoffs or SB hunt. Immobile pocket passers aren't sustainable long term. They need a perfect set of OL, running game, and receivers to be successful.

 

Give Cam a garbage OL, no running game, and a 5'9 35 y old receiver he'll take you the the playoffs. Can't say the same for Tom and Peyton.

They're both fast and ran 4.56. You need to watch more panthers game. Seatle have a better OL than Carolina.
