ESPN Mock 3.0 We got Cyrus Kouandjio

Keep Steve

Recommended Posts

Analysis: There were some concerns about his medicals at the combine, but Kouandjio is going to come in healthy and ready to contribute. And it's worth remembering that he won't turn 21 until after the draft. While Kouandjio has a high ceiling, he's not merely a physical talent who could develop -- this is a kid who was battering SEC defensive linemen at the age of 19. If the health is there, so is the ceiling. It's a good bet for the Panthers at this point.

I think it had Carolina taking Benjamin before.  It has him going to the Browns at 26 now.  I don't mind this.

I do not like him with the expectations of starting at LT.

Thats one player. We have no receivers that have caught one ball from Cam.

We could add a couple of guys Cotchery and draft a 2-3 round guy and be OK at WR....not great, but OK.

LT is a huge problem with nothing in FA and nothing on the roster that resembles a good starting LT.

However, I don't think Cyrus' health concerns will be erased and I don't see another top LT falling.  So, that being said I absolutely see either WR or CB in the first....with my money on WR.

Jeff Otah 2.0

This....seriously this guy is Jeff Otah the second coming...steer clear from CK...

If we drafted this dood I'd be nuts especially depending on which WR is there at the time....

We can literally get almost as good as CK's "ceiling" in the 3rd round this year at OT....don't want

    • So... what metrics for production do you believe display these issues/limitations best? Are we only using total passing yards, height, and weight thresholds? If so, then what are those thresholds?
    • I mean as far as his size goes it's all over his tape bouncing up and down on his toes in and around the pocket trying to see the field and defenses know this as well as we do but if folks here want to live in never never land and pretend it's not a thing that's their prerogative. Even our head coach has made it a key focal point to get his footwork under control. But it's still something Bryce is going to be tested on early and often no matter how many keystrokes anyone here commits to the narrative it isn't an issue.
    • It speaks volumes that when asked to define a clear performance threshold the responses instead fixate on Bryce's size. It reinforces what’s been clear for a while now... that for some, it has never been nor will it ever be about production. Any struggles will always be chalked up to his frame, and any strong play will be downplayed or disqualified via highly mobile goalposts.
