The Elusive "Super Star"

The Hornets left town and the concept got stuck in the heads of many that the only way our new Bobcats could every regain their glory or even compete was to tank until we drafted a so called "Super Star" 8 Years of tanking and here we are, we didn't draft a *Star* Although, it wasn't like we had a chance, we drafted busts after busts ahead of more stars than you could fit on an NBA roster. Even today with the Bobcats on the verge of a Playoff push we still have fans claiming we are throwing away our future because we refuse to lose. Well, in light of that we have this guy on our roster you might know of, he goes by the name "Big Al" and unless you live under a rock you've seen Big Al is putting up big numbers. Putting up 21 Points and 10 Rebounds a game, the only player in the east to average a 20/10 a game. There is a laundry list of numbers he is putting up that other so called stars are not. Al Jefferson has been blazing his way through the NBA trying to find someone who can defend him. Players, coaches and even legends of the game are not afraid to admit that what Al Jefferson is doing something special with the Cats this year. Just two days ago Paul Pierce had this to say "No one on the planet can guard him. We tried to double him. Single, triple-there’s nothing we could have done with him tonight." Since the All-Star break, he's averaging 25.4 points and 10.4 rebounds on 53.5 percent shooting. Folks, that's what you call a Star.

Before the Cats knew what Jefferson would bring to the table as a player Kemba Walker was facing all the criticism. He was "Not the PG of the future because he lacked the ability to assist the ball and run the offense properly" Averaging just about 18 Points, 6 Assists, 5 Rebounds and 1.4 Steals. Since coming back from injury Kemba is throwing around just about 7.5 assists per game. Kemba is averaging just about the same stats as Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard. While Lillard and Irving seem to be hitting a wall Kemba is continuing to grow and get better just like every level headed fan expected. Last game vs the Nets Jefferson had 35 Points 15 Rebounds, Kemba has 20 Points 12 Assists. That's seems to be the norm lately. That's one hell of a duo right there.

So, to top this off.. We have Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who might not be able to score much, but he can defend just about anyone in the league. Surprisingly enough I have to eat so much crow about Zeller, he hit the rookie wall and ran right through it. Cody has serious potential. You got to give props to whoever found CDR, he might not be a starter, but he has proven to be an amazing SG off the bench. Well, don't forget we have Portland's pick and we still have a decent chance at landing Detroit's top 10 pick. Oh yeah, by the way we also have enough cap to go after another star like Melo.

Still wanna tank? Still not going in the right direction?

Good read, though if I may add some constructive criticism the English could use quite a bit of help.

I'm not even going to deny it. My english isn't the best but I didn't even proof read that poo lol.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
