Getting 8 hrs of sleep/night for more than a week

I find it impossible to sleep during the day.  It doesn't matter if I only sleep 1 hour the night before I can't do it.  The only time I find that I can sleep during the day is if I'm really sick and drugged up.  It's really frustrating at times when I really would like to nap and need it but just can't.

Really we need actual scientific proof that x-amount of sleep for y-amount of days is needed, and that that a-amount of sleep for b-amount of days is bad. Probably still won't stop me though.

College and alcohol-fuelled vacations introduced me to power naps but I'd always feel even more tired afterwards. I often go to sleep 1 to 1.30am and wake up at 6am which is poor. I go home and often fall asleep in front of the TV by 10pm or earlier if watching live sports, although having a bad back and joints lets your mind persuade you into laying down the moment you get back from an hour-o
