Captain takes jab at the Panthers and Dwill on twitter

I can't believe everyone is upset with Captain or Dwill, everyone has an opinion. Being a yes man isn't everyone's personality. Get over it, whatever either player gets as a contract will probably be more than most people make in 3 lifetimes.

But what dwill have been saying this whole offseason is getting old i could care less what he makes. He has earned his money more than j stew has. But what if cam came out an said the same thing dwill has it eould be all kinds of crap. He needs to shut his mouth an worry about his play . Cause to be honest it ant been that great but that's my opinion.

What people forget to realize is this is not Legos.

You just don't throw new players in the huddle and it fit.

Maybe dwill is sending the RIGHT message. And that is our old guys were good so you better get ready to prove yourself.

These guys bled on the field together. They are bros. I'm sure some of you fans are making this a lot bigger than the players are

It's no different than seeing a buddy replaced at work with a dude that you don't think is as good.

Then he proves himself and everything is cool.

Same crap.

Damn bittys.

I would imagine it being hard for any running back making it pass the los if they are constantly met and wrapped in the backfield.  The good thing about the team is he hasn't been used and pounded in the ground like every other back in the league.  I can see him having 2-3 years more endurance than most backs because of that.  Now that his lead outside blocker is gone and Lafell was a pretty good blocker as well, will only make his job tougher if the players picked up can hold their points up.

As far as Cam goes, he is the quarterback of the team so he has to be onboard.  Whatever Cam says, the team will react to it, by him accepting that responsibilty he did the right thing, and I wouldn't have expected the quarterback on any team to say anything different unless they are ready to hit the door because they are fed up.  Nothing in Cam's interview made me feel like he is a lock to be here for years.  If the gamble doesn't pay off, there will be little upside to him sticking around.

He can think whatever he wants but he shouldn't be making fun of them publicly all offseason. People get cut/traded/not resigned all the time. It's a part of the business. If Delo has a problem with it he needs to take it up with Gettleman and/or Rivera. Not crack jokes on twitter.

What gamble? We didn't resign 2 mediocre WRs? We released an aging WR that was a lockerroom distraction?

Good one dude! Abortion jokes are so awesome!

I can take a joke. I just don't find it amussing when a player on the team basically says our WRs suck. Especially from a player who has been on the team for awhile and should be looked as a vet and a leader. Like I said, he can think they suck all he wants but making fun of them multiple times in public is not somethng that should be done. One time? Sure, whatever. It's just a joke. But 2...3 times? Gets old.

I'm not demanding he be cut or punished. I just want him to shutup.

    • Congratulations do they know who the father is?
    • In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.
    • Maybe I'm just not understanding, but everywhere that I have read says that signing bonuses go against the cap prorated by as much as five years. The following example uses Andrew Luck's rookie contract as an example. "Take Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck signed a four-year contract with the Colts worth $22.1 million and included a $14.5 million signing bonus. Rather than a $14.5 million cap hit in 2012, the Colts spread out his signing bonus over the life of his contract. The hit against the cap would be $3.625 million per year over four years instead of a direct cap hit of $14.5 million directly in 2012. This gave the Colts more leverage and cap flexibility in signing other players." https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-signing-bonuses-explained/ I don't know why some of you think that signing bonuses aren't counted against the cap over the length of the contract, but whatever.   "The bonus with a signing is usually the most garish aspect of a rookie contract. Bonus is the immediate cash players receive when they ink a deal. It factors into the cap, but only for the whole contract duration, in terms of salary cap calculations. In the case of Bryce Young’s $24.6 million signing bonus, that’s prorated to approximately $6.15 million per season over a four-year deal. This format allows teams to handle the cap and provides rookies with some short-term fiscal stability, which is important given the high injury risk in this league." https://collegefootballnetwork.com/how-rookie-contracts-work-in-the-nfl/ I understand how signing bonuses can be a useful tool in order to manage the cap, and as one of the article suggests, signing bonuses may become important if you have a tight cap, but the bill is always going to come due. I'm not necessarily referring to you Tuka, but it seems to me that others simply don't want to understand that fact which is why they're reacting to what I'm saying negatively. How odd. In any event, I have a better general understanding of why signing bonuses are used now, and it's generally to fit salaries under the cap. Surely players, whether they be rookies or not, love a signing bonus because they get a good portion of their money up front. This in turn gives them more security and probably amounts to tax benefits as well. I also understand why teams would not want to use signing bonuses, particularly for players or draftees who have a higher probability of being gone before a contract even ends.
