since we usu only carry two rbs (not counting hoover/and fiammata or however you sp it) on gameday does this mean we'll only carry 4 wrs and 2 TEs?

BASICALLY, i get the feeling someone who we're not expecting is going to be deactivated on game day that usu wouldn't be. any guesses?

Most of the time they activated 3 RB's not including Hoover on game day. Goings played special teams. Williams, Stewart, Goings. So I don't think there'll be a problem on game day unless they want to activate 2 FB's. That would be unusual.

GRWatcher, spot on. I totally forgot about Goings... shame, seems to be the story of his career. You answered by question.

The extra FB situation deserves its own thread (but my opinion is we carry one less TE on gameday).

Goodson, with his apparent ability to play running back, receiver and return man, is a blessing in disguise when it comes to roster spots. Activate him on game day, and he can fill all of the aforementioned positions.

If he lives up to the hype, I think he's going to take a receiver's spot. Sadly, I think Carter doesn't make the squad, and you can probably forget about Moore, Beavers et al. There will be several talented players on the offensive side of the ball that won't be able to make the squad this year.

I wonder if Lee could impress enough to take the third running back spot, leaving Goodson as fourth (or fifth) receiver/return man? That would leave us with the following receivers: Smith, Muhammad, Jarrett, Robinson, Goodson.

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
