  2. Most People Think the Panthers improved the most during Free Agency
  3. I wish Rico Dowdle lots of luck, except the game when they play the Panthers, one he will probably be fired up for.
  4. S, ILB, DT or DE. Maybe if a viable LT plummets down to us, you do that. I haven’t seen anyone listed near 19 at C. I absolutely do not want a TE or a WR at 19 and will be hoping we don’t do that. Maybe trade down would be good. The top of the second looks pretty fertile to me. I would be good with getting something we could use to get into that area a couple of times.
  5. OT and CB are both premium positions that should still merit a high look. thienaman would be fun but I said that mostly in jest. The lack of investment in the defensive backfield-CB or S, makes me think it’s on their mind come draft time though
  6. Damn, this is a good fall back plan for a great number. Drafting another LT is still not out of the question, although we may not need to use a 1st for it, now.
  7. surprised one of your normal sources did not break this: Seymour Buttz, Mike Hunt, Dick Bangs...
  8. So far, post FA additions, the Panthers for the first time in a long time are in a position where they can move around their first round pick. Here's what it could look like if Dan wants to use this year to grab additional picks. Using the classic Jimmy Johnson Valuation Model, here are three possible options (assuming the players are still there): Scenario 1: The "Small Slide" (Trading with a team in the mid-20s) If a team like the Green Bay Packers (#23) or Minnesota Vikings (#24) wants to jump up for a specific player, the Panthers could net an extra 3rd-round pick. Panthers give: #19 (875 pts) Panthers receive: #24 (740 pts) + #87 (155 pts) Total Return: 895 pts (The Panthers "win" by 20 points, a common "tax" for moving up). Possible Picks: Pick #24: Makai Lemon (WR, USC) or Kenyon Sadiq (TE, Oregon)- Pick #87: Josiah Trotter (LB, Missouri) Scenario 2: The "Big Move" (Trading to the end of Round 1) If a team like the Detroit Lions (#28) or Washington Commanders (#29) wants to get back into the top 20, the Panthers could demand a high 2nd-round pick. Panthers give: #19 (875 pts) Panthers receive: #29 (640 pts) + #61 (292 pts) Total Return: 932 pts (A significant profit for moving back 10 spots). Possible Picks: Pick #29: Akheem Mesidor (Edge, Miami) or Zion Young (Edge, Missouri) - Pick #61: Spencer Fano (OT, Utah) or Logan Jones (C, Iowa) Scenario 3: The "Draft Capital Haul" (Trading out of the 1st Round) If the Panthers decide they want multiple "bites at the apple" in the second day of the draft, they could trade with a team at the top of Round 2, like the Cleveland Browns (#33). Panthers give: #19 (875 pts) Panthers receive: #33 (580 pts) + #67 (255 pts) + #104 (86 pts) Total Return: 921 pts (This gives Carolina three picks in the top 105). Possible Picks: Pick #33: Cashius Howell (Edge, Texas A&M) - Pick #67: Kevin "KC" Concepcion (WR, Texas A&M) - Pick #104: Jalen Stroman (S, Notre Dame) or Jake Slaughter (C, Florida)
  9. Who are you benching? You don't take a nickel corner there, surely that's probably the one position on defense where you can't find a starter on base defense
  10. Ickey's not a sure thing to be back week 1 in 2027 IMO. I would love to be wrong about that but really doubt it.
  11. Starting to feel like the stench of panther bad luck is wearing off. Right time right place with walker. Everything aligned perfectly
  12. the draft is stacked with OL this year, teams may have decided to draft rather than dump a bunch a money into a FA
  13. I saw something a couple of pages back I really had to restrain myself from replying to, on that front. I typed paragraphs of rebuttal stuff and did not hit send.
  14. It certainly gives you options. Walker is by reputation pretty good against speed rushers, something Icky sometimes struggled with.
  15. Wow he actually pretends to consider week 1 for Icky as realistic? That is highly questionable judgement right there.
