  1. Past hour
  2. And even then his downfield accuracy has always been poor. Most of those Jameson Williams highlights at Alabama he was open by a mile.
  3. C'mon... everything has to go perfect after the snap for Bryce to deliver a deep ball. Anything less than the perfect setup and he can't throw a catchable ball deep.
  4. Yeah if he's as stressed as he looks dropping one would do him a world if good
  5. XL is a plodder. He doesn't have quickness to go with the straight line speed. A CB could run a 4.6 and easily cover him deep just by getting a hand/body on him. He doesn't play big either. TMac is not a burner, neither was Funchess. But if you throw a Ginn on the field with Funchess, then you might have something. Bryce can throw a deep ball. He just doesn't. Which is probably worse.
  6. Continuity is how we got Hurney picking Rhule for Tepper, year 3 of Rhule, Fritterer's 23 draft & coaching staff and the dynamic duo of Morgan and DC now. We need to end the continuity and try something else. Again, maybe they get lucky. This staff is what we got for forcing Young on the them. Fug trying to save that personally, it was always built to fail and were all bottom choices anyways. It's the NFL, if you can't prove why there should be a year three then there shouldn't be. It would be completely justifiable to walk away from all of these people given what year 2 looks like...and it's actually year 3 for some of them yikes.
  7. I don't know why folks are trying to act like T-Mac is a plodder like Funchess. He's not Randy Moss but the guy can run. XL was drafted in large part because he's 6'2" 220 with legit sub-4.4 speed. We don't have a QB who can throw a deep ball. We could have a fleet of absolute burners and we still wouldn't have a vertical element to our offense. We honestly just don't know what type of vertical ability we might have at receiver because we don't have the QB to unleash it.
  8. Then he'll be looking for a new job soon. I don't think he should do both.
  9. Don't have deep threat at receiver. There really is no speed at the position. The position that should be heavy with speed is anything but. Cam had Smitty, LaFell, Legedu and 2 all pro TEs for underneath stuff. This receiving group is made up of glorified TE type WRs, and a rookie WR with a ton of potential that still has lapses in focus right now.
  10. Yeah I think the issue is that Dave the play caller is likely a package deal with Dave the head coach.
  11. I can't say that he absolutely should've been. I mean, maybe through the interview process and whiteboard work the issues that would show up in the NFL were evident. Especially when it comes to evaluating the QB position so much of the evaluation comes down to that part that we don't have any insight into beyond the rumor mill.
  12. Only way I'd pick up that 5th after this season is if he finished with 4000+ yards and 25+ TDs. Really don't think that's happening and would take a HUGE turnaround.
  13. Agree here, even though Fields didnt pan out, he should have absolutely been the pick.
  14. By far the biggest difference is that we had a ROY future MVP at QB vs. Bryce Young. We aren't nearly as depleted of talent on offense as people want to make it out. It just looks that way when you're this handcuffed by the QB position.
  15. I think he could be a better HC than playcaller. Not sure why he abandoned putting the QB under center as much after the first drive - until he brought Dalton back under center at the end. FYI, those were the 2 TD drives. Bryce missed a couple of throws. But it wasn't as bad as I thought when I was watching live. He was successful for almost every playaction roll out from under center. And then we stopped doing it. The Patriots didn't stop it all game. They actually had a few "DJ Johnson-level" lose contain ends.
  16. He will probably request a trade or cut if we dont pick up his 5th but so be it
  17. Yeah I understand the continuity argument, but he got thoroughly outcoached by Liam Coen.
  18. I kind of get the feeling all this publicity he got this offseason has made him feel like hes fine with or without football.
  19. I am not there with firing him as long as he only has had Bryce to work with. I won’t rant against it if it happens but thisnisn’t a fair opportunity for anyone. I know the arguments for it no need to try and convince me, I need to see him fail with a good QB.
  20. No idea. I guess you go with what you have until you've created the right environment for a rookie. Does no good to ruin another 1st round QB. But can't give Bryce an extension. He hasn't earned that in any way, shape or form. Let him fight it out in camp with Hooker and Dalton. We're in QB hell right now, but you can't keep blowing your rent money on the lottery.
  21. It's not an apples and oranges comparison honestly. It's something terribly disappointing versus something incredibly disappointing. See, not the same thing at all. It just seems that way because, we the fans, keep seeing the same outcome again and again and again.
  22. I feel about the same. I'm not in love with either prospect, but I think fighting against the current has done way more damage than drafting a bad player. We resisted drafting a QB when we should have done it, and then forced it when we shouldn't have.
  23. I would've absolutely taken a chance on Fields and I would've been wrong but I was always a loud Mac Jones dissenter. He just obviously didn't have NFL tools IMO. He was Kenny Pickett before Kenny Pickett.
  24. Sometimes you should just take what falls in your lap. Jaycee Horn is a good player, but I still would have drafted Justin Fields or Mac Jones. Yeah they both busted, but just using the 8th overall pick isn't that bad vs trading up. We had 2 first round prospects fall into our pick and we passed it up. I don't think either one would have worked out, but it's like the butterfly effect. We never would have traded for Darnold. We would have gotten another high pick to use on a QB after those guys didn't work out.
