The Question started following Just wanted to pop in

And remind y’all that Rico Dowdle ran the ball 7 times on Monday.

I didn't want to pay him and they should have traded him before the 20+ million in dead cap. I feel this is another "blame tepper", he wanted a QB and Panthers only had 4 draft picks. CMC got a bad health report and missed games, but league still valued him and he was the best player on the team. Shitttttterererererererer traded him for 4 future picks, the future 2nd ended up being 61st........so all the other draft picks in 5th 4th were next to last, just a mistake. Yes 49ers at the time looked cook, but CMC helped them reach the SB. Used that 2nd and 3rd in the BY and DJ Johnson trades.....just awful returns. It was dirty to wilks to trade CMC while he was trying to make the playoffs, best I member the run game got better after the trade.... Im just one of those "never pay RB, safety, or MLBs" unless cheap/all world. CMC is not all world, but he's dang close. Poorly handle, he bought a big home and thought he'd remain a career panther....Herniay made him the 16 million man, tops by 4 full million and no RB passed that mark for 2 years, God dam fug you herniay. Im anti-RB, but about the last thing they should have done was trade a 1000 1000 threat that wanted to stay here, just total fumble by the Panthers/tepper/herniay/fittterererererererere per normal for this time-line.

Honestly he looked fine, but it also seemed pretty clear why hes averaging 3.6 ypc or whatever. He definitely looks a little less explosive. He looked a little more like the equivalent of a slot receiver thats good against zone coverage.

Its clear what they were trying to do. You know how when a team gets exposed by another team and everyone is like well thats the blueprint to beating them. The 49ers game before us they gave up an NFL record 47 completions to Jacoby Brissett of all people. I assume they thought if Brissett could dink and dunk pick apart the 49ers then our qb definitely can. Unfortunately they thought wrong on that part. -
Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 12 loss to 49ers
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im going to give him more time and hopefully a new panther QB will be tossing him darts next year. It feels, rough numbers and all- Tmac 60% Coker 15% Rico/chubba-20% XL- 3% Sanders/TEs- 2% of attention/targets etc. -

Oh man he's no CMC, I said since CMC for a reason haha. But I don't think he's come down to earth - he had the best game of his career not long ago. He just still makes some mistakes but it's things I believe he'll clean up. -
But in all seriousness we have to win the division. To do that, Bryce needs to play in Atlanta every week. I'm hoping that somehow we find a way to win with him... It just seems unlikely.
-
You are right, I had ultra low expectations and surprised by the higher level of play.
-
Lol I dont even wanna imagine Canales's playcalling in the playoffs. Bryce "I have to better" Young throws for 79 yards and 3 ints on 50+ attempts. Chubba and Rico each combine for 3 carries after averaging 9 yards per. Endless possibilities.
-
2022-Panthers trade Mccaffrey. 2023- Panthers trade DJ Moore 2024- Panthers trade Brian Burns We brought in Bryce Young...exchanged a first and traded away the '24 first, which ended up being pick 1. That's 5 first rounders we mismanging in 3 years. Not to mention the 2's. Take those same 3 players n put them on our roster now and subtract Bryce. Add in Canales's dumb ass and give him either Sam Darnold or Baker...hell give him PJ Walker. Smdh...coulda, woulda, shoulda...
-
Yep, not the smartest play call. It's evidence that Canales is trying to be cute, or that he simply doesn't believe in the RB or line to get the job done.
-
He’s on a one year contract and it’s past the trade deadline. He will leave of his own volition because the head coach won’t give him the damn ball.
-
Doesn't even make sense, lol. Half the complaints are that Canales isn't running it enough. Fair enough, but he put the game in Bryce's hands and he couldn't deliver... Despite there being opportunities to do so.

He probably hasn't spoken to Rico because DC is dumb enough to not think he did anything wrong. Get ready for 60 pass attempts from Bryce next week where he goes 15/60 passing for 102 yards, 1 garbage time TD, and 4 INTs -
We will probably end up playing the Rams or Seahawks (whichever one doesn't win the division). AKA - it will be an ugly blowout loss if we miraculously made the playoffs.
-
I really think we should just rest our starters for the Rams and Seahawks game. 0% chance we win either of them, so might as well rest up and try and be somewhat healthy for the Saints and 2 Bucs games
-
If Bakers hurt for an extended time that gives us some hope at winning out after the Rams. Its moot point though if Bryce doesn't start slinging it.
-
I think DC is lucky that he followed our 2 worst coaches in franchise history with Rhule and Reich. If he had followed Rivera or Fox (or any competent coach), I think we would all be way more pissed with his coaching. We aren't winning because of him (for the most part) - it's been other teams screwing up in embarrassing fashion (like we did Monday), our defense winning us the game, or Rico just running the ball down the other team's throat. DC has constantly F'd up obvious personnel decisions the entire year and we have needed injuries to happen to get better players on the field...

Here's what really sucks. I would bet almost bet to every man on this forum that if we went 7-10 or 8-9 they would have said it was a successful season. Say we beat N.O. and TB gives us the last game of the season because they can't lose the division and won't play their top players. We go 8-9. Canales is a genius, and we are stuck with Young and Canales for another year. Worst part is we only beat 1 quality team in GB minus TB who won't play their starters. I've had enough of Canales's moronic game planning. There is no excuse for the amount of carries this team had Sunday. Yeah, it was fun to see Bryce have a career day against Atlanta. If you play sports long enough, you'll have a day where you couldn't do no wrong. To game plan around the passing game was just plan moronic. SF defense was mediocre at best, and we managed 1 TD and 1 FG. WTF. But watch and see. We'll end up 7-10 or 8-9 and everyone is going to say we had a good year. Canales and Young are back in the saddle in 2026. -
Watching that video what stood out to me was when he said something along the lines of "Everytime this happens coach takes responsibility" Sooooo my question now becomes, where tf is his common sense? .. DC holds hisself accountable for a week or two then reverts back. The more I think about it the more it gets under my skin. THIS is the same guy who in his introductory interview claimed he was so anxious to show the world just how stubborn he was with running the football?!?!? Nah bro Im pretty sure we've always had a "lack of run game" since he's been here. We have a rb with damn near half of 1k yards in 2 weeks and ultimately said fug it, let's see if Bryce can air it out lol..
