  1. Past hour
  2. It should have only been two options to this whole situation 1) Take that Rams deal as soon as it was offered or 2) Pay the man Instead, we (yet again) chose the worst option and did neither, and we were left with trading him for scraps. The problem wasn't trading him, the problem was not taking that Rams deal.
  3. Coaches turn down shitty teams all the time. See ours. There’s a reason we had to hire a coach not a single other team even wanted to interview for a Rooney rule slot evero also had an interview with the Steelers so he’s already had more interest than our current head coach did. Whether that was just Rooney rule remains to be seen. as I keep saying, and no one wants to address, he’s been stuck with one of the least talented units in the nfl while they throw everything they can at making bryce a top 24 qb. What scheme change or play call to help Leadership Council Member Rozeboom not vanish into the middle of the line on every blitz? Or are we asking fourth string DBs to man up Puca Nacua? To say nothing about it the offense on the other side of the ball he’s been stuck with. He wanted to leave (customary) and was forced to stay. and you all better pray he doesn’t leave because I cannot imagine how pathetic the coordinator search would become. “Come to a roster of JAGs with an offense that’ll ask you to hold every other team to less than 20 points and if the coach gets fired you’ll be forced to stay for the next one.” Did Canales masturbate with any evangelical DB coaches in Tampa that we know about?
  4. Which part? The part that you're a douche, or the part that half of you are A holes?
  5. That happens everywhere but it does seem more obvious here. I would say these instances are worse at the moment than normal, for that matter.
  6. Agreed but Denver did get much better on defense after him. I think a pretty good chunk of that was just it being built but I would never consider him in the top 15 of NFL DC's.
  7. So me saying I know fans that want to get rid of Lamar and Dak should be interpreted as I think Bryce is as good as them? Okie dokie.
  8. Dude, you are such a douche. I mean wow! I live near Baltimore and date someone that lives there so I interact with their fans pretty often. You all are the only Panthers fans I ever get to talk to. And half of you are A holes. Yes, I mean you.
  9. Trading away home grown talent before paying them a massive raise on a new contract is a perfectly valid way to build a team. The reason it turned out so bad for us is that Fitterer was such a horrific evaluator of talent, so we got crap out of those picks. Just look at the difference between the Vikings trading Stefon Diggs and the Titans trading AJ Brown, both for 1st round picks. Vikings draft Jefferson and Titans draft, hell I can barely remember his name. Burkes?
  10. Seems like we've always had some coach's pets that stick around and oftentimes even start even though they're obvious liabilities.
  11. There was a large handful of very talented coverage safties in free agency last year, and we had the cap space for them. We just actively decided to ride with Nick Scott.
  12. What kind of ridiculously dumb take is this? Now Evero may or may not be happy with his situation in Carolina, I have literally no clue. But his willingness to accept interest in a massive promotion to one of the most prestigious jobs in the entire country doesn't signal proof towards his feelings on the Panther in one way or another. I don't care if he's loving his time in Carolina; you don't pass up an opportunity like that. Not to mention, Evero is lucky to even be sniffing interviews. He's the coordinator for a middling defense that was historically bad under his watch just 1 year ago. He can't afford to turn down anything. And the Raiders with the #1 pick in the draft, is a better landing spot than at least a few of the openings regardless.
  13. We were never going to offer him that kind of change. He hasn't really produced at the level of that deal until this past season. Of the top 10 AAV pass rushers, the only player with a lower career Sack/GM average is Josh Hines-Allen.
  14. I think Burns was already slowly inching one foot out the door with the contract negotiations and then we traded a fortune for Bryce Young Brian and the rest of the team finally got an in person look at him in camp and he was like yeah get me out of here.
  15. Not making excuses for him because he has made some really bad decisions at times (like last Saturday). And is ultra conservative with the defense. But compared to other teams he has been on, he has had the least amount of talent here.
  16. Generally the only people going out of their way to loudly point out how passing yards are down are Bryce Young apologists here. Yes the yardage numbers for passing offenses may be lower in recent seasons at varying levels compared to 5 or 10 years ago but there were 6 QB's with 4k passing yards this season and there were two with over 3,900. The dialogue here is always revolving around spinning the fact that Bryce Young moves the ball through the air at a historically low rate. Only those people think it has to be that way.
  17. I don’t think burns would have signed long term. he wanted a bigger market.
  18. "Who cares about yards?" Apparently not us with our 27th passing offense.
  19. I don't know why people are getting themselves worked up about Burns anymore. For all the things we said about him we knew he was still talented. He's going to have highs and lows with the Giants just like he had here. It's best to just turn the page. If we hadn't exhausted so many resources to both acquire Bryce Young and surround him with the most expensive OL in the league and back to back first round picks on WR including one in the top ten we could already be talking about how good our young pass rushers and linebackers look and forget about Brian Burns.
  20. Today
  21. He is also reportedly a very, very smart guy. That's why it's so frustrating to see him be so inflexible schematically and with some of the questionable personnel decisions.
  22. Yes but I am saying that money would be completely squandered because he is a net negative in rush defense and Evero literally limits pass rush effectiveness. That's not a $30 mil AAV scenario. We cannot afford to have that kind of change wrapped up in minimal impact players. If we attempt to sign someone like Hendrickson at an inflated price tag this offseason, I am gonna beat this exact same drum so this isn't all about Burns. Now, in a different world, a different DC and a different Panthers team makeup, I wouldn't necessarily vehemently disagree with you on keeping him. But that isn't the current Panthers. The pick squandering I am not even gonna address. I mean, that era of Front Office...."management" so thoroughly put the bar through the floor that it almost dug the proverbial "hole to China." What can we do? They were all completely incompetent idiots that fuged us for probably a few years left still, to some extent. Nothing can change it. We just gotta accept it.
  23. I hate the 49ers so much I'll even pull for Darnold and the Seahawks.
  24. I think it’s because of who he has coached under. Raheem Morris, Dom Capers, Vic Fangio
  25. I've been critical of him but it certainly seems Evero is respected around the league. What a Panthers thing it would be if he goes on to be a solid head coach and Canales flounders.
  26. I agree we were screwed when we didn’t take the trade but at that point we should have kept him and signed him to a long term deal. We can only pray to have someone with the production he has this past season and he’s only 27. If he played well after that, we could have traded him later if we really wanted to for more picks rather than nickels. I know the money at the time seemed like allot but he’s only #10 highest paid right now and we have spent more than that trying to get a sliver of that production on people like DJ Wonnun, Wharton, Patrick Jones etc. and are still searching for answers. It’s similar to the CMC trade, we did nothing with the picks, and people complained about what he made, yet we paid Chubba, benched him at one point, spend a 2nd round pick on another RB, and still to this day we would kill to get his production back, much less mentioning his skills as a WR.
