How do you keep 6 while cutting Renfrow. Renfrow is the best PR and best pure slot guy on this team right now. No way a well run team keeps Moore and Horn both over him….then again, we are a poorly run team
-
Spotrac says that Tremble's cap hit for 2025 is $3.85M with a dead cap of $6M. Next season though, he'll have a $6.5M cap hit but the dead cap number would only be $2.16M. Mitchell Evans hasn't looked good while James Mitchell has looked better (imo). Tremble is still the best guy in that room until JT0 becomes more consistent.

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection

- They like OG Jarrett Kingston, I think he's kept as our 10th o-lineman. He's graded out very well on the first 2 preseason games and played C vs Texans - We keep 6 WR, Hunter Renfrow gets cut - Jaden Crumedy has been very strong vs the run, we keep him over Cam Jackson -
Idzik.

I'd like to see a drive long enough Thursday night that at least one kicker gets to attempt a field goal to help give some idea as to which one deserves the job -- even if it's a 56-yarder to cut the lead to 40. -
At this point I hope he and the Bears start hot and then barrel right back off a cliff Chip Kelly style. Fug em.

I can’t name our offensive coordinator. I am getting older and the mind is slipping but I seriously can’t

We knew his size when we drafted him. -

cutting Tremble saves us 4.5 mill. CFutting Mitchell only saves 1 mill. Depends on how much we value Tremble's blocking ability. Maybe Mitchell can block, I don't know anything about him -
In a lot of systems, WR must be able to block in the run game. He’s too small for that.

I think he was drafted primarily as a return man and then we were going to look to develop him as a WR but he didn't impress as a returner and probably just isn't far enough along as a WR to make it. We'll hope to stash him on the PS and if someone picks him up, oh well. That's just the way it goes with 6th rounders sometimes. -
Well that's absolutely what would happen if the Panthers had the #1 overall pick and a chance to pick Arch Manning. He will absolutely, never ever be a Carolina Panther. The Saints are colluding to make him their pick next year. Our best hope is Bryce pans out or it's another 5 years of misery at a minimum.

Jones isn't close to the naturally talented passer that Darnold is. Darnold throws as good of a ball as anybody. He just has that panic gene in him.
-
Would love for Crumedy to make the roster but Roberts has played pretty well. I'd be hype to keep James Mitchell.

Preseason Week 3 - vs. Pittsburgh (practice tweets, discussion, etc)
Icege replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think week 1 is a great test for both cat teams. Jags have a surprisingly solid roster with some names on that defense. They've got a rookie HC + rookie DC, which is good for Carolina, but Evero and Coen already met twice last season and it didn't exactly go what I'd call well. Still... there's some match-ups to keep our eyes on: Campinile (Jags DC) comes from GB and was their run game coordinator on defense. The Jaguars have a stacked front seven as well. It'll be a really good test for the Panthers OL and run game. The Jaguars' offense has some guys, and Coen put up better numbers than Canales in his one season at TB, but they're going to have a similarly balanced attack that will allow the defense to rev up against a persistent ground game early. How will the secondary contain BTJ? Is Jaycee going to shadow him? That's going to give us a lot of insight into how different the scheme is from last year (if at all). Will the offense be able to get those chunk plays against a solid Jags defense that PFF graded top-5 in overall Defense, #1 in pressure, top-5 in coverage, and top-15 against the run? -

By all indications, the surgery was "minor." I know with all surgeries and especially back surgery there can be complications, but I think the whole time Tremble did this with the expectation he would be able to be back for Week 1 It sounds like he will be ready to start back in team drills next week. He's a veteran who knows the system so I'm sure that helps. I still can't imagine he will play a normal workload early on though -

Maybe. He was pretty good in college before a bad injury. He had a good preseason last year as a UDFA in Washington and was on their practice squad all year so they obviously saw something worth developing. He signed a futures deal with the Panthers earlier this year, and everything about him has been increasingly positive. Tremayne has gotten a decent amount of time with the ones, and a lot with the twos for someone that doesn't have a chance. He's the only other 6'4" plus WR on the team, plays ST, and is a more natural backup to the X receiver position than David Moore. That was my thinking behind it. But he may well end up as one of the last roster cuts. If so, I do hope they can bring him back to the PS. But I personally think there's a good chance he could be claimed given his ST ability and what hes shown at WR. -

That was my thought originally, but so many of the beat writers have mentioned keeping 7 WRs in conversations that I went with that, at least for the purposes of this projection. But you're right that historically defensive guys who were standouts at ST have tradionally gotten those last spots
