Yep. Blaming Bryce for everything right now is like saying that one peanut is what makes the whole turd stink.

I’m far from an expert here, but is the system really fine? The inability to stop the run is a long standing thing with Evero. I have no faith in him or his system.

I wonder how much of that is a combination of swapping out over half of the starters from last season and one less week of preseason for teams to get on the same page. We usually see defenses ahead of offenses at the beginning of the season, so the defense starting slow is a concern. It was particularly frustrating seeing guys that have been in the system for a year or longer failing to execute. I like Nick Scott as a person and appreciate his ability to communicate the scheme to the others, but Lathan Ransom has so much more upside. Speaking of Ransom, I'm hoping between today and tomorrow to review all of the rookies on defense since they didn't have many snaps to begin with.

I've only had time to look at the first few clips, but I think the problem with Evero is that players simply aren't executing. Nobody makes a play on the sweep. Moehrig makes a mistake on the next play. Scott makes a mistake on the next. I guess that's coaching, but fundamentally the system is fine.

I’ll ad one more. Play him the rest of the year. Suck for the number 1 pick draft a big boy qb. Just like the panthers did with pickles in 2010 that lead to Cam. That’s the only option. This team isn’t making the playoffs. They suck.

I hate this approach. There's no guarantee you'll like anyone in the next Draft. You can't just pick a guy 'cos you need a QB. Which is why I advocate looking at the guys with NFL tape and trying to prize one of those away until you DO find the guy in the Draft. But granted you're also happy to let Young play out the season, leaving us playing 10v11 all year, so there you go. Different strokes for different folks.

I don't think you lose anything replacing Thielen with Renfrow.

If I still have a job in the offseason, trade him and move on.

If Bryce was a not an overall 1st round pick I could understand the people who come to his defense. But from day one he has never looked like a first round QB. Even during the games where he was good last year he looked like any old normal QB. If you are taken 1st overall you are expected to be something special. Bryce is not.

Cam looked like a #1 pick from day one. Literally broke the record for passing yards in a NFL debut and never got the leeway these QBs get now. The narrative to this day is that he wasn't a good passer. Don't know what you got till it's gone...

It’s the media giving him the treatment Cam deserved for me. FOH using drops and college pedigree as excuses now.

Let him play out the year. If he’s as bad as feared we’ll have a top pick to get the next guy. The only advantage in benching him early is to try and preserve his trade stock, but at this point I doubt we’re getting much unless he’s traded after some promising performances

If I were Dan Morgan, I would target Lbs, a stud TE, and QB. If you question whether or not your QB is the guy in year 3, you need to start looking. He will have his chance, but start looking. Oddly, we could even be down a WR now--our most loaded position 5 weeks ago--Coker out, XL still eating road kill, and AT gone--suddenly, the cupboard is bare. In my view, we celebrated when Bryce had a streak where he was normal--average. I would also look at coaching. Evero? XL not blocking or dragging his toe? etc. These are disturbing signs. Evero's system is flawed, but they stay with it.

Yea, 55%+ iirc I thought we would see more cover 4 and 6 looks like in his first season, but it was a lot of soft cover 3 again

The whole “field not being stretched” thing might’ve worked for rookie year Bryce but it doesn’t anymore lmao He takes several go ball attempts every game. Literally threw like 6 deep balls this past game. Do you think other teams just chuck the ball deep all game? they don’t.
