  1. Past hour
  2. Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
  3. Today
  4. Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
  5. NFL has a huge amount of parity. The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable. 2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
  6. We are talking about a single game performance. You are way out in left field rambling on at this point.
  7. Who here didn't want Rhule and Reich fired? Blame Tep for hiring them but I'm glad he realized it was not working and investing more into their path as HC's was senseless. I think he was more than patient with coaches and GM's who were doing a horrible job. In many instances he overpaid by a large amount to get the people he's deemed will be successful or players his coaches wanted. Tepper ok'd some huge contracts based on his GM or Coach's opinion. Teddy 2 gloves (3yr @ 63 million with 40 guaranteed) because OC Joe Brady worked with him in NO and wanted him. The Bucs started looking at signing him causing us to give him a bloated contract to ensure we got him. Traded after 1 year. Traded a 2nd for Darnold and gave him his 5th year extension before he ever played a down for us. Rhule begged for Baker Mayfield and Tepper refused until we got him at a bargin and even with only paying 5-6 million for him, he sucked under that staff. Ben McDodo was behind the request for Ian Thomas's extension because he fit his offense. Never underestimate the lies or how stupid a coach on a short leash will be. Paid an insane amount of money for the dream team coaching staff lead by Reich. Reich was fired halfway through the season and the rest of the offensive coaches followed at the end of that year.
  8. Yeah the league changed Cam for the worse after that Super Bowl and they drove it home entirely in the 2016 season opener in Denver. They did not want him in any way shape or form becoming one of the faces of the league. In large part I think this was a contributing factor in how Cam went out of his way to stand out and be unapologetically himself. He was giving the league office the middle finger. And I say good. F*ck them.
  9. I do agree he has a quality basketball IQ. He also has the prerequisite talent in spades. The issue is and you can see this with his brother Lonzo. They just aren't motivated to get on the court. It's not that they don't play hard or that they aren't competitive. They just don't seem to have much if any drive to get to the mountain top which is a playoff run and competing for a championship. Just the experience of playing and making a boatload of money seems to be enough. That's never going to be a player you can build around. Like you say that's your second or third best player on a playoff team. But not the singular core guy everyone else looks to.
  10. We got time. Will see how this next preseason game looks for them
  11. The Browns are a historically bad organization but they seem to at least have the right idea about legitimate competition at the most consequential position.
  12. It feels like that season was both the best time for him but also the worst with how it ended. I honestly don’t care to revisit 2015 either because it just makes me feel like poo. Forever tarnished
  13. This doesn't make any sense to me. Almost a 1/3 of the NFL had the same or worse record than the Panthers last year they now have the worst roster while having one of the best defenders in the league back? The Panthers certainly haven't earned anything, but anyone with half a brain that watches football could see what was happening with this franchise in the 2nd half of the season. This team is going to be competitive this year and like every NFL season, a couple plays will dictate whether they have 9 wins or 6 wins.
  14. Also I see you slinking around here af 6 am spamming poo reactions @Icege Don't you have a family?
  15. Say it with me slowly. Sustainability. That's what we are waiting to find out with Bryce. What parts of his game are and are not sustainable. If you disagree with me about his rushing that is your prerogative.
  16. Our kickoff coverage was exceptional in the first preseason game, which is what this thread is discussing.
  17. There have been a few fleeting exceptions.
  18. See I didn't think I had anything in common with media outlets.
  19. BREAKING NEWS: Shocking updates to the depth chart. This week the Panthers, shockingly, announced that nothing newsworthy has occurred with their depth chart.
  20. Basically this. If we could contain it simply to Rhule, that would be great but it has stretched 4 GM's(Hurney, Rhule, Fitterer, Morgan) and 4 HC's(Rivera, Rhule, Reich, DC).
  21. I can't say I blame him. Between the league office allowing open season on him to be headhunted and the difficult journey he had with having to face the reality that he wasn't physically the same QB anymore I just don't think he wants to be fully enveloped in that kind of a reminder. He will reminisce with some of the guys from that group if they get together which is very rare but that's it. It's unfortunate. But it happens.
  22. Has Dowdle returned kicks? Etienne looked extremely uncomfortable back there and flubbed his opportunity and Renfrow values his health so he probably shouldn't be back there either.
  23. Weirdly I don't really care for these either. I don't know if it's because how it ended or what, but I just don't feel the need to relive it through video. My favorite content from this era is when someone like Luke does a podcast and talks about it from his perspective.
  24. Yeah I’m so glad we didn’t take him. I feel like he could end up as a journeyman strong side linebacker as his ceiling. Not great but not terrible. Any pass rusher drafted in the top 10 better be a physical freak.
