And until demonstrated otherwise, it remains a very effective way of building a playoff loser. I really wanted to see the Ravens win this year to accelerate the change. But nobody's actually won a Super Bowl with that team build in the modern era. -

somewhat bizarre for the Panthers to be ahead of the curve -
of course I finally get the time and I finally find out the hornets schedule ....... so the game before is the first OT this summer league. Missing 12 minutes of the hornets for these scrubs.

Yeah, I don't post on social media, so I would guess that is largely true.

I will be surprised if we ever have a HC and GM in a stable scenario that are also on the same page while he is the owner. Tepper is a finance bro. They thrive on chaos to create opportunities. - Today

Yep, homegrown is generally the way to go, especially in terms of the cap. I'm hoping---just hoping---that this will be our best receiving corps in a long time. We've certainly invested the draft capital. -
Rookies report 2 weeks from today.
Captain Morgan replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
because we can't edit thread titles (for some reason) I can't change this to 1 week from today, and don't want to start another thread, but one week from today rookies report. just one more week. Even the photos of them arriving, and some fluff tweets and write ups will be better than nothing. Keep pounding mfers -

3 safety looks? We’ll need to sign 2 more legit safeties to even attempt that. -

By several accounts, Tepper isn't as hardly as involved as he was. That's been the criticism: that he meddles. We didn't hear or see much from Tepper in the war room; he was basically trusting his team to do their thing without much participation as it pertained to wheeling and dealing. He is also saying the right things now, and, as evidenced by the formerly mentioned, following through. Earlier this year in a discussion with Mike Kaye, Tepper referred to Morgan, Canales and Brandt as a an "excellent management team." He also added, "We're just getting started, so we're just building through this year and...it's just building and building and building, and I think, you know, we'll build in the next few years." -
Yeah the Broncos defense that year was ridiculously talented no doubt. Still for how good they were we were in the game late into the fourth. Manning was a horrid passer. But we needed to try and match the intensity. The only guy we had coming close to that was Kony Ealy and that's a sad indicator. At the same time it was plainly obvious the refs were not going to give us even an inch. I haven't been as passionate about football since that game and the 2016 season opener where the league openly allowed headhunting was the final straw. The league never wanted us to win it all and they sent that message loud and clear. Sadly our owner at the time was loyal to the league to a fault even until the very end when they ousted him before Snyder. Now we're stuck with the Tepper's. Man........

This is from 5 months ago. It was one or the other. Trade for one or draft one. We apparently called the Jets about Wilson. We also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf. Drafting our own guy was the best course of action given the required investment. Regardless now is the time for Bryce Young to produce. We are fourth amongst all teams in cap spending on the OL. Back to back first round picks at WR and multiple young TE draft picks now. Very solid and respectable backfield. New pieces across the defense. The time is now. -
That was just the worst time to have their worst game of the season. One key deal was the broncos guess the Panthers would NOT change any plays or flow to the game. Another key point overlook that bronco defense was truly one of the best in the NFL history. It was the best defense the Panthers faced that year, by far. They were not ready for it, but broncos were ready for the Panthers. Mix in that bad luck, poor refs showcase, and this is the golden boys last game........ Panthers needed to win by 20 and the broncos defense was not going to allow that. Panthers were the favorites and I believe they also thought that it was going to easier than them destroying NFC playoff teams as they marched to the SB. I've heard darin Gantt say the play calls were to give remmers help, but for some reason the team never did it. During the year they never had that problem, so maybe never practiced giving help via TE/RB, or WR chip. Cam was superman that year, no need for any adjustments...... Until you meet a legendary defense with studs at all levels, Think about it, Peyton was throwing wingless dunks for the whole season, the defense had to carry his corpse to the SB. That's how good they were, not many defense are able to get to the playoffs and win a SB without decent QB play. If you recall the beginning of that defense took Tim Teblows and his non-throwing arse to the playoffs couple years before. That's insane the level of defense needed to overcome.

Who cares if he paid for such small benefits out of his own pocket? The NCAA is a joke. They need to be offering such anyway, especially for Uber rides (which actually seems like a good idea).

To me, running the ball has always been important. Sure there have been outliers, but it's easier to win championships when you run with legitimacy. Like I've said in the past, don't get not wanting to pay RBs and not wanting to run the ball confused. As for playing under center, we'll see how that's going to work for Bryce. This is the year for him to convince the world that he's starter-material in today's NFL, and playing consistently under center is part of that, and it's really the only believable way to execute play-action. I will give him this though, he's not afraid to spread the ball around. We'll see what happens this season. -

I guess i have to add I am curious as well as to what Tepper has done that shows he has backed off. Thats not a hard ask. I guess I am in a holding pattern of what to believe until the wheels come off again. Not saying thats going to happen but there is more data out there to suggest it will vs a turn around. -

Running or being able to run the ball allows you to control the game. You control the pace, score, and time of possession. It does also allow your defense to rest and when they do get on the field, go 100%. That in turn forces the opponents offense not have 3 and outs. That's huge pressure, if the other team is just running the ball while having 14 plays drives. If you are able to get 3.5 yards a carry and mix in smoke routes that gain similar while allowing the clock to run......you control the game. Deal is nearly all rules changes in the 25 years have helped the passing part. Young folks and gambling folk want to see 37-45 scores. Those 10-16 score teams are poison and toxic, I don't care personally just win. I can enjoy a 6-3 slug-out just the same as 50-42. There just too many factors to go over. Running used to be important for playoff ball, cause it was before half the league got domes. Running the ball in snow, cold, wet conditions was the path. Like NE played in that awful division each for 20 years during the Dynasty run, they normally had the #1 seed and home field. Thats why bill always had a #1 defense and enough offense to win. It was a huge advantage. I have thought you need to pass in order to score, THEN you must be able to run the ball with 7minutes remaining to keep the other teams offense off the field. But if you're setup to pass and get no experience during the game to try rushing plays, who knows what you can do. So I feel you truly need a balanced attack, that's the key and main goal. Run for first downs went you need too and pass for TDs when you need too.
