Mike kaye and josh graham on panthers issues
electro's horse replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
There’s no fuging way You’d think Bryce would be smart enough to say the right things about competition and excited to earn the spot blah blah blah, but when he was benched last year his camp started feeding rumors to Russini that teams wanted to trade for him. He's a messy little entitled bitch and he’ll go down kicking and screaming for sure. -

This is a pretty good commentary, though I think the whole comment on contradictory approaches glosses over / ignores the obvious: Canales is in not in charge of personnel outside the offense, and Bryce is SEVERELY limiting what they can do. -
Tankathon: Where we stand on draft position…..

Lol. I’ll never understand this. Wishing that we end up with worse talent at the draft seems counterproductive to the goal. I’ll give you some examples: 1. We missed out on Herbert because of 1 win. Love Brown but having a real QB would be nice. Finished 5-11 and lost Herbert to SOS tiebreakers. 2. 1 win versus Rivera and we got Horn instead of pick 3, which is where SF gave 3 firsts to trade up for Lance. Here’s who we could have gotten instead: 2021 #12 Micah Parsons, 2022 #29 George Karlaftis (we wouldn’t draft a G), #102 - Assume we waste that, and 2023 #29 based on what it seemed like we liked, either Joey Porter Jr or maybe La Porta. Heck, maybe we use Mingo’s pick and move up from #29 to get a real WR between Njigba-Smith, Addison, Flowers or Johnston. Might have even been enough to avoid the XL fiasco and get DeJean or Frazier. Anyway, you can knock tankers all you want but having Herbert, Parsons, Karlaftis a real WR over Mingo could have changed our team. Don’t even care if Rhule was still here because we’d have made the playoffs in spite of him, especially if the real WR caused us to not draft XL. People want to stick their heads in the sand and call the draft random but there is undeniable proof that this team would be way better if we just went 4-12 instead of 5-11 in 2019 and 2020. -

I've got our only shot at wins as the Jets and the Saints. I'm not confident we even win those. The Dolphins and Cowboys will beat the brakes off this team. -
Bingo. Hit up the Vikings for Howell. Hit up the Chargers for Lance. Hit up the 49ers for Jones. A competent NFL QB can be found if we try. Just staunch the bleeding.

Picking up the option on Bryce's contract would be absolutely insane. Dumping another $26M guaranteed into this failed experiment would be the dumbest thing we could do. -

How could it not be. There's only so much blame for this mess you can place on Young. When things outside of and not remotely related to the qb start to stand out, Charlotte we have a problem. -

Yeah, playing the Bucs the last game of the year might be an accidental win because they will be resting starters for the playoffs. Looking at our schedule though, I'm not confident we beat the Dolphins or Cowboys at home. After that, I think a home win against the Saints might be our last win since I assume we won't win a road game this year -

I'm not ready to kick Legette to the curb just yet. If anything I'm super impressed with Coker and T-Mac for producing with this QB. Look at the TD Evans caught on Sunday - Young doesn't make that play. Insert a competent NFL QB into this system and I think we're all signing a different tune. -

kaye has always been way more critical of the panthers then the past observer writers. I love his style -

So much for that - Minnesota gave him the brinks truck to stay there -

why is anyone holding on to this "change of scenery" bullshith with bryce just say he can't play no one was saying The Golden Calf of Bristol needed a change of scenery; he just got invited to Patriots camp as a fug you to reporters then faded away. -

We have a real shot at the 3rd pick as it stands right now. But realistically we will be picking 8 or 9 as we usually do. -

if a charlotte observer writer is now criticizing bryce and canales, as tepid as the criticism is, that's an ominous sign. -
We literally went to a Super Bowl with an NFL Europe backup QB. LOL We need to look everywhere for upgrades. Free agency, draft, potential low value trades. Looking for THE savior led to this Bryce Young debacle.

This is it in a nutshell. The only thing they do know is there's no way they should pick up his 5th year option. That is an absolute proven fact. They shouldn't even debate it. Its completely off the table. They better be scouting every qb option available in the coming offseason. -

Good video. Brought up some good points - most of which has been talked about ad nauseum around here already. I am with him when he talks about how he's surprised the progress the offense showed in the second half of last year is completely gone so far this year. I had high hopes for them based off of those last 10 games as well but so far, it's not there. Don't know why but it isn't. -

We are going to have a hard time outsucking the Titans and Saints. The good news is that I think we will get a top 5 pick -
Actually Jaaska is on a two-way this year, his one way doesn’t start until next year so he can be sent down.
-
Two WRs and a QB among the highest paid. Like unless you're legit drafting OL every pick (they took one in the third and one in the fifth lol) you're going to struggle to put together any semblance of a good OL...
-
It's not the kickers fault it's all the pieces around him gotta give him 4 years to find out if he's good or not

Have you met Eddie Pineiro?

LinvilleGorge replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, they're shortening his career letting him take these beatings. And I put some of the blame on him too. He lobbied HARD for them to re-sign Higgins. I mean, I get it. You have chemistry with the guy, etc. But that's where as a GM you just gotta sit him down and be like "Listen man, we want you to play another decade plus and that's not gonna happen if we don't protect you and I'm gonna struggle to protect you if we have two of the highest paid WRs in the league tying up our cap space. We can't afford to keep him and protect you and I have to value protecting you. We can get similar production out of a lesser player with Chase on the other side drawing the coverage."
