https://x.com/PanthersAnalyst/status/1950209602680746000 Edgar Salmingo, Jr. ✌ @PanthersAnalyst · 1h #Panthers sign Ja'seem Reed, one of 3 WRs who tried out yesterday Interesting choice to cut Dan Chisena. Not the worst WR on the roster, same with Amare Barno for the EDGEs Seems like they're releasing bubble guys early instead of waiting until cut day so other guys get a shot Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 1h Austin Corbett anchors very well at center and Andy Dalton zooms the ball over the middle to Jimmy Horn on a deep cross for a TD in 11s. Shemar Bartholomew with a pick on Bryce Young on the next play. Gabe McDonald @GabeMcDonald_ · 1h #Panthers CB Shemar Bartholomew with a solid day so far. Had a PBU on the first series of the second period of 11 on 11 and just started the third series with an INT on a Bryce Young pass. Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Matthew Wright was 3-5. Last one clanged off the right upright. Edgar Salmingo, Jr. ✌ @PanthersAnalyst · 1h Looks like it was the passing focused 11 on 11 session Hunter Renfrow and Jimmy Horn, Jr., made big plays again have a day Shemar Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Bryce Young airs one out to Jalen Coker. Tight coverage by Shemar Bartholomew. Coker couldn’t come down with it. 11v11

Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Andy Dalton with a nice throw down the middle to Jimmy Horn, who holds on despite being knocked down by Nick Scott on incidental contact. 7v7 Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 1h 7s work, no pads. Andy Dalton to Jimmy Horn Jr over the middle. Bit of a hospital ball — Horn gets knocked to the turf (cleanly) by Nick Scott in coverage. But still snags it and flexes afterward. Impressive.

And I am super excited about him. But he's a 6th round rookie..its going to take some time.

I love the roster churning. I also heard Jimmy was talking about breaking the combine 40 record and then wasn't even close. Just odd to me the legend of Jimmy's speed. He was also apparently terrible at the 3 cone. Odd.

We needed receivers. Period. When your best receiver was an aging over the hill 34 year old vet you need receivers. I think those of you expecting T-Mac to be a slow plodding soft guy like Funchess are gonna be surprised. He doesn't have the physicality of KB but he's not soft like Funchess and he's quicker and faster than both. Expect something similar to Drake London. He had two solid seasons with trash QB play then blossomed in year three to put up nearly 1300 yards.

We brought in 3 safeties and 3 CB's as UDFA. Not sure about all the moves in the last 3 months With DMo constantly churning the bottom of the roster.

Four Panthers stood out this week T/C!!
PNW_PantherMan replied to Doc LRB's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sounding more like Jimmy Horn Jr is going to turn out like Shi Smith. That blurb is like something you'd write about a jugs machine. Really puts the ball where the players need it and helps us work on our catching. 10/10. -
This is why he was running with the 1's yesterday! I really hope he's as good as the hype.

It’s still early but our 2024 draft day 3 looks promising. Sanders and Wade both look like good roster guys with Demani and Coker also being picked up in the undrafted player pool. If you count the trade of 7th rounder Michael Barret (I do) to get Mike Jackson it looks even better. -
We didn’t need a 50/50 ball receiver. We need guys who can create separation for Bryce to pinpoint the ball to at all levels of the defense. Tet may figure it out a few years from now but he will struggle to beat man coverage due to his lack of acceleration and what seems to be relatively slim frame. The offense functioned much better with Theilen last season because of his ability to create separation from defenders. I don’t know why but that is Bryce’s go-to rather than a 50/50 ball which, in the NFL, is a throw you may make two times per game. i wanted Tyle Warren because I feel he can end up being very much like Kelci and how he operates in space and how that chemistry between he and Mahomes doesn’t need a playbook. Then you’ve got Matthew Golden who is apparently burning everyone at Packers camp right now. He is very much like Antonio Brown. We clearly made the pick we made so I should get over it. I think everyone is hoping for Mike Evans here but at best I think we may get a smaller DK Metcalf? Given what we know about his inability to break coverage at UA-Tuscon, it’s going to be even harder in THA LEAGUE.

For those thinking Renfrow isn't making the team...Ha!
Zaximus replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
With how WR starved we've been over the years I'll gladly take 7 on the roster. There will no doubt be injuries so it gives flexibility and also makes it easier when someone needs to rest for a week for a nagging injury if someone else can step up. The Renfrow story has been great. Dude was on the couch dealing with some real stuff the last year and probably misses playing and is going all out. And basically his hometown team, near his family, it's like a perfect storm. We already knew he ran amazing routes and is a third down machine. AT isn't going to be around forever but Renfrow could slide into that vet leadership role in the future. -
I hope Deion will be well now, he's been battling a lot of health issues, as do almost every person of his or our age. Even one of the greatest athletes of his time has had to battle with health issues and thankfully it seems like he's been on top of things. Learn from him and stay on top of things, especially after 40. You really, really aren't as young as you feel.

The Horn hype is nuts.

I’m not sure I agree on the first note on Smith. Chase had the dropsies in preseason before his rookie year and corrected it, but it was surprising because he’s got great hands. I don’t know whether XL will get better or not because we don’t have years of play to look at. One of the surprises to me is the dismissal of using the Jugs machine yo get better as if it doesn’t matter. Amon Ra lives with the machine and he’s now at a level that someone who took it easy will never reach. Doesn’t mean XL will or won’t do well but I surely can’t look at taking it easy as a good thing. I certainly don’t want to know what Amon Ra or Steve Smith would say to that, even if it was rookie year. Just weird to act like it’s OK. Will he grow and now do everything he possibly can to be as good as possible? I hope so.

It's because we owned the Bucs for so long that they aren't as offensive.

This place is hilarious. Complaining about finding proven depth for nearly the price of a UDFA. -

Bucs continue to have issues -- they have a league-leading 464lb player who was just put in "non football injury reserve" list due to his weight. The good news is that he's getting the help he needs; carrying that much around can't be good long-term for the knees or other important parts https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45821897/bucs-watson-nfl-heaviest-player-trying-get-healthier
