  1. Past hour
  2. We go out of our way not to attack the middle of the field if we can avoid it which is due to Bryce's lack of vision. We learned about that the hard way in his rookie season and it was not pretty. And that only makes things more difficult for our OL in pass blocking. There's 3 years worth of game tape on this. Passes to the sideline are also hit and miss at best and occasionally Bryce will throw a dime along the sideline but for the most part the receiver has to either slow down or fully stop in his tracks and make an acrobatic move to have a chance to haul in the throw in bounds.
  3. Maybe the last 4 but over the season pff likes him as much as any stat measure lol
  4. Making something out of nothing and improvising was a big part of his selling point but it was always primarily as a passer distributing the ball aka point guard. But he had 185 rushing yards in 2 full seasons at Alabama. Again. We didn't draft him for his legs no matter how many times someone wants engage in revisionist history.
  5. Our line is built to run 1st, not pass block. Our LT was drafted as a run blocking mauler, not the pass pro ready. To top it off, our coach can't recognize which RB is actually producing in game. Another issue is we have a QB that can't play effectively from inside a tight pocket. He can't see the field. His sight line is below the shoulder pads of most linemen. Stepping up into a tight pocket is essentially going blind for him. Top OL play is always going to be an issue because unless we can keep huge gaps, his field vision will be limited. It's why he's so quick to bail and scramble. It's why I can't do floor seats with my wife. I'm 6'3 and my vision still gets blocked. She's 5'3 and she's blind. It's front row or regular tiered seats.
  6. We finally got a really good duo performance from LaMelo and Brandon and with the help of Kon Knueppel we knocked off the Hawks. Now we play the waiting game to see how long LaMelo will remain relatively healthy.
  7. Running to extend plays and avoid sacks was definitely one of the reasons he was drafted, I mean that was pretty much his specialty in college. I honestly didn't think that would translate very well at this level, but he had become pretty elusive in the pocket. If our OL is having a bad day, which all OL do, he needs to use his legs to help them out which I think he did pretty well last week.
  8. Oh my god no poo “NO ONE IS GETTING HOT CHOCOLATE”
  9. Hes not throwing into coverage. Coverage doesn’t matter when you throw half your passes behind the line of scrimmage. Defenses are playing 8 in the box with single high safeties. matter what the defense is or what they’re disguising if you’re just gonna throw a 20 yard go route and hope the wr gets there.
  10. I appreciate the efforts you've made here with this data. As concerned as I am about how efficient we are allowing opposing QB's to perform against us I think we can all agree a change of scenery at DC will go a long ways. Equally as important is the simple fact that we have shifted primarily to an offensive identity as a team and the investments of our resources strongly reflect that. If we cannot get better results out of this offense things need to change.
  11. Covered that above. As for his weapons I am completely over the scapegoating of the receivers. Been doing this for now going on three full years and I'm done hearing it. At some point if you have a franchise QB he either makes the players around him better or he doesn't. Now if you want to get into Canales I am willing to give him just as much smoke as Bryce because we had options for head coach and we chose to go offensive head coach again to oversee the development of our steep investments in the offense. So far said development is lacking to say the least and we came out of the bye week with the division and playoffs to play for looking like the less motivated team. That is unacceptable.
  12. Buss shuts out his old team - crossed fingers so no jinx
  13. I complimented Bryce on some of the maneuvering he did within the pocket but eventually the game got to a point where he needed to stand tall and get the ball to his guys and he could not do that. We've had this discussion about his legs previously buddy. You don't recall our convo about the sustainability of him as a runner after last years Falcons game at the end of the season? We didn't draft this kid for his legs.
  14. Whatever it is, i hope it gets fully exposed
  15. Today
  16. Roger all that. Do you think BY avoided any sacks last game? This oline is not what you're touting them to be. They are much better then 2023! Much much much better than 2023. But come on now, you'd expect this expensive oline (most are run blocking specialist) to at least dominate in the run game every game. And... I keep telling you our WRs and TEs are not that good yet. I mean last Sunday was a prime example. Our receiving targets never make plays like those. Never. And this is from one of the worst teams in the league. Shough could have easily had 3 INTs if not for his receivers making plays on the ball. Our guys just don't do that. XL almost allowed an INT backing up out of bounds instead of coming to the ball. And everyone would have blamed that on BY. That's why he doesn't throw to that dude. I can't recall a game except maybe the second Falcons game - maybe, where I thought our receivers could possibly be better than the other team's. I think TMac and Coker have a lot of potential. But they're aren't consistent. But they're young and WILL improve. I'm confident of that. I don't agree that BY was drafted to only stand in the pocket. He has always been best off schedule - for better or worse.
  17. Do you think you will get a direct answer? Icky giving up 5 pressures (playing hurt in his defense) by himself and Bryce only getting sacked once tells you he played well in the pocket. He extended plays and converted some tough downs.
  18. I've been very apprehensive about potentially firing yet another head coach. But Canales needs to focus on being a head coach first and foremost and begin handing off some responsibilities like playcalling duties and begin overseeing the entire team or we need to assess all possible ideal HC candidates in the offseason.
  19. Our TE group is young but they are comically either the highest of highs or the lowest of lows. Can't chalk all of it up to just lack of talent or busts. Whether it's Canales or Bryce Young or a combination of the two you don't just week to week month to month go from looking like you've got future studs at TE to complete duds. At some point your QB has to elevate these guys instead of them always saving his ass.
  20. I am very pessimistic. I genuinely view him as a bigger problem than Bryce and that is saying a lot.
  21. No, and that was an issue we hadwith Rivera. We used to joke about making a list of all of the things Rivera learned too late. I'm still cautiously optimistic about Canales at the moment, but we'll see.
  22. I don't think it's helpful in that it takes weeks for it to sometimes happen. The NFL isn't a league for slow learners.
  23. He did use a more balanced approach (at least in the early part of the game) and called some of the plays that he should have been calling the first time when we were facing heavy pressure. I give him credit for that. There are most definitely issues that need fixing though.
  24. I think they may not view TE as very important. We will see.
  25. I don't think DC would bring in someone who is already a more successful HC and also a far, far, FAR more impressive offensive coach. He is gonna view that as a potential job threat, IMO. And that's outside the lack of established prior coaching staff relationship. I think if you see DC give up duties, it would be to Idzik.
