I love King. I just don't see him as a NFL QB. Well, I don't see him as a starter. But I personally wouldn't mind a Taysom Hill backing up my franchise QB.

With the 1st Pick in the 2026 Draft....
LinvilleGorge replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
How many of these examples can you find? Because most of his deep balls are honestly inaccurate. -
He is the dumbass that got picked for Bryce and took the giant payday to do so. What has he done to earn a shot or use a top pick this offseason? I have seen him fail enough personally. He needs to spend more time as a coordinator and learn from a HC that can show him how to be a successful HC becaude nothing points to him figuring it out currently. Have you ever seen the team ready for the season under him? I sure haven't.

With the 1st Pick in the 2026 Draft....
LinvilleGorge replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, he's just not a good downfield passer. Plenty of us pointed this out in his college play. He was throwing up "area balls" to wide open receivers who could adjust to the ball. Put an NFL secondary out there and most of those balls aren't completed. -

No argument there. If it isn't his presnap read, then he ain't likely even trying it. But when decides to throw deep based on coverage, he's shown he can throw with accuracy. -

And even then his downfield accuracy has always been poor. Most of those Jameson Williams highlights at Alabama he was open by a mile. -

C'mon... everything has to go perfect after the snap for Bryce to deliver a deep ball. Anything less than the perfect setup and he can't throw a catchable ball deep. -
Yeah if he's as stressed as he looks dropping one would do him a world if good

XL is a plodder. He doesn't have quickness to go with the straight line speed. A CB could run a 4.6 and easily cover him deep just by getting a hand/body on him. He doesn't play big either. TMac is not a burner, neither was Funchess. But if you throw a Ginn on the field with Funchess, then you might have something. Bryce can throw a deep ball. He just doesn't. Which is probably worse. -
Continuity is how we got Hurney picking Rhule for Tepper, year 3 of Rhule, Fritterer's 23 draft & coaching staff and the dynamic duo of Morgan and DC now. We need to end the continuity and try something else. Again, maybe they get lucky. This staff is what we got for forcing Young on the them. Fug trying to save that personally, it was always built to fail and were all bottom choices anyways. It's the NFL, if you can't prove why there should be a year three then there shouldn't be. It would be completely justifiable to walk away from all of these people given what year 2 looks like...and it's actually year 3 for some of them yikes.

I don't know why folks are trying to act like T-Mac is a plodder like Funchess. He's not Randy Moss but the guy can run. XL was drafted in large part because he's 6'2" 220 with legit sub-4.4 speed. We don't have a QB who can throw a deep ball. We could have a fleet of absolute burners and we still wouldn't have a vertical element to our offense. We honestly just don't know what type of vertical ability we might have at receiver because we don't have the QB to unleash it. -
Then he'll be looking for a new job soon. I don't think he should do both.

Don't have deep threat at receiver. There really is no speed at the position. The position that should be heavy with speed is anything but. Cam had Smitty, LaFell, Legedu and 2 all pro TEs for underneath stuff. This receiving group is made up of glorified TE type WRs, and a rookie WR with a ton of potential that still has lapses in focus right now. -
Yeah I think the issue is that Dave the play caller is likely a package deal with Dave the head coach.

I can't say that he absolutely should've been. I mean, maybe through the interview process and whiteboard work the issues that would show up in the NFL were evident. Especially when it comes to evaluating the QB position so much of the evaluation comes down to that part that we don't have any insight into beyond the rumor mill. -

Only way I'd pick up that 5th after this season is if he finished with 4000+ yards and 25+ TDs. Really don't think that's happening and would take a HUGE turnaround. -
Agree here, even though Fields didnt pan out, he should have absolutely been the pick.

LinvilleGorge replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
By far the biggest difference is that we had a ROY future MVP at QB vs. Bryce Young. We aren't nearly as depleted of talent on offense as people want to make it out. It just looks that way when you're this handcuffed by the QB position. -
I think he could be a better HC than playcaller. Not sure why he abandoned putting the QB under center as much after the first drive - until he brought Dalton back under center at the end. FYI, those were the 2 TD drives. Bryce missed a couple of throws. But it wasn't as bad as I thought when I was watching live. He was successful for almost every playaction roll out from under center. And then we stopped doing it. The Patriots didn't stop it all game. They actually had a few "DJ Johnson-level" lose contain ends.

Yeah I understand the continuity argument, but he got thoroughly outcoached by Liam Coen. -

I kind of get the feeling all this publicity he got this offseason has made him feel like hes fine with or without football. -
I am not there with firing him as long as he only has had Bryce to work with. I won’t rant against it if it happens but thisnisn’t a fair opportunity for anyone. I know the arguments for it no need to try and convince me, I need to see him fail with a good QB.
