You know what's worse about the QB situation?

Maybe, its too early to say but we have to have one. Rolling a poo vet out without someone developing seems like purgatory -

It's all bad. He's just the little guy on the top of this wedding cake of misery. -

Whatever the Panthers do going forward after this season it better be with a mindset that you always need some level of competition in the QB room. Nobody cares about how much the starting QB likes the second or third string QB's. They aren't here to knit sweaters they're here to play football and compete. -
The other option is to be patient and wait and see if a good HC gets canned from his current team. No way Minnesota fires KOC but let's say they have ANOTHER bad season next year. Maybe we could trade for him. I doubt it but at this point I really want someone with a proven track record of success.

great write up OP but this confirms but my suspicions that there are a TON of names on that list that either don't excite me or straight up terrify me Of all the options listed. Flores, Minter and maybe maybe Morton get me excited we've tried the college HC, we've tried the retread HC, we've tried the upcoming offensive mind. All of these can work but we've simply picked three bad options What we haven't tried is a culture setting CEO type like Dan Campbell. I believe Brian Flores can be that. He will need a good staff around him on offense but at minimum guys will play hard for him. The best success we've had under tepper was with Wilks, it wasn't always pretty but guys played hard and we were competitive. The same can not be said for any other stretch under him

best football podcast there is, thanks for posting -
I guarantee at minimum we would have a good locker room culture and the guys would want to battle for him I don't think Luke wants that though. reading the tea leaves on almost every interview he's done since retiring is that I think he likes being retired and dabbling in his hobbies and doing the Panthers radio. I don't blame him, I'd be doing the exact same as him

Technically this is true. Fitterer was fired on Jan. 8th, Dan was hired on Jan. 22 and Dave was hired on Jan. 24. Dan was the guy for the entire interview process during that cycle, more than likely. -

I wont argue against more attempts but its not like Sanders is a notably better prospect than Hooker. -

This was a very weak QB draft and there were players available that could help us immediately given the extreme lack of quality players on the roster at the time(and now). I mean, don't get me wrong, we mostly managed to avoid those players that could help us immediately. -
Morgan did hire Canales as they worked together in Seattle

New QB??? Brother, Cam is just hitting his prime, IMO. I am willing to bet you he wins a league MVP in the next 3 seasons.

I haven't thrown Bryce away yet.. tho I have lowered my potential outcome for him. I don't think he's ever going to be a top 6 QB.. he can be good enough to drive you to the prom as long as you give him a chaperone.. but really after all the stank that was on Sanders.. Dude fell to what the 5th round.. Cleveland took a QB before him and circled back a round or 2 later before we had the idea to take him as a back up or safety net. I don't think you should ever not scout quarterbacks just off the potential of possibly trading one for higher compensation like the Patriots did with Joe Milton. Just for trade packages and compensation you should always be grooming training or preparing a young late round QB for such situations. I don't understand the thinking of we have Bryce and Dalton we don't even need to think about another quarterback we're like set for generations here we're good..

Haha, yeah we 100% need a new QB, but if we sign someone, not sure who, Reese is sure looking like someone we need.

Dude, Morgan is still living with the aftershocks of trading up to get Bryce. It’s not his fault that fans can’t think critically enough about this to understand that.
