Not having Derrick Brown in the top 100 players is certainly a take.
-
Compared to those that were on the list. Yes. Go look at 51-100 and tell me that they were better than Chuba? There were several head scratchers.
-
I'm surprised Horn isn't on there, but in reality, it's not exactly the craziest thing for us to not have anyone on there. That's only 3.125 players per team who would make the list if evenly distributed. There are obviously a whole bunch of teams that have more than 3 players deserving of making the list, and that obviously will take spots away from the lesser teams to get someone on the list.
-
Exactly. SC doesn't give one fug about the Panthers. Signing Renfrow finally shut them up but the Klepmson homers incessantly whining about the Panthers never drafting/signing their players was insufferable.
-
Chuba? Top 100 NFL player? LOLOLOL
-
The entire draft scouting department should have been purged with Fitterer IMO. The fact there were no major changes was and is a bad sign.
-
We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
-
I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther. Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt. It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three. ESPN is garbage anyhow.
-
Bingo! We are on the same page. Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders. Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place. One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced. Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL. Why? RAS score, pure and simple. If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.

Jaycee? Hunt?
-
That’s where Huntley is headed.

I've been pounding the drum for seven or eight years about this: Our scouting and evaluation department is crap. If we don't show marked improvement this season, it's time to blow the whole thing up from GM and HC on down to scouting and trainers. Clean slate, no "hey my buddy from back in the day is perfect to join us" crap anymore. This poo has to end somewhere.

Raheem Morris has always been a terrible HC going back to Tampa. I don’t understand why he is so highly thought of. -
Before I opened the thread I wondered to myself if we had even one. Nope. Had Brown not missed all last season, he probably would have made it.
-
We really need to figure something out at CB. Horn was healthy last year but had a history of going down. We are one injury away from depending on Chau Smith-Wade and Shamar Bartholomew on one side of the field.
-
JJ Jansen not being on this list proves that it is shite.

2025 NFL Rank: Predicting top 100 players for this season - ESPN I'll save you the click- 0 Panthers in the top 100. A couple of former Panthers and a hand full of "draft- What-If's" on the list. If this nothing else, this type of list shows the down stream impact of terrible player personnel and scouting that was in place here for years.

Lots of names being added to the cuts. Some names that pop to me for one reason or another (not that the Panthers should sign them, just that they stood out to me)... QB Tyler Huntley (CLE) QB Adrian Martinez (NYJ) QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (PHI) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Zach Pascal (NYG) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) TE Matt Sokol (BUF) TE Jaheim Bell (NE) TE Tre' McKitty (HOU) C Jim Morrissey (NYG) DL Morgan Fox (ATL) ILB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) OLB Kenny Willekes (PIT) OLB Cam Gill (MIN) CB Zy Alexander (BUF) CB O'Dell Fortune (NYG) CB Dicaprio Bootle (DET) CB Lamar Jackson (ATL) S K'Von Wallace (NYG) S Shiloh Sanders (TB) DB Lewis Cline (PHI) DB Major Burns (CHI) DB Josh Thompson (ATL) K Caden Davis (PIT) A few former Panthers' on that list (Fox, Hudson, Gill, Bootle, Jackson).

They are all in on the rookie. The optics are bad across the board to attempt to "save" him from a beating by putting in Cousins. If you can't handle that schematically, you are toast as a HC/OC. -
I know. The amount of angst over Dalton and pining after these absolute unholy bums is fuging comical.

That's exactly what I've been wondering... Do you march out Cousins, who does not perform well behind porous OLs (to be fair, most QBs don't) OR do you send Penix Jr out there and hope for him to not get the poo kicked out of him? Not an ideal situation for them to be in. -
How can Houston be going into the season with that being the state of their QB room? Without an elite QB2 their Superb Owl chances are shot.
-
I'd be fine with BY, Perkins and Huntley. I'm ok with Dalton, but Plummer needs to go.

Cousins doesn't really play well under constant duress, so I am not sure that is something to worry about. It's certainly possible but I don't think it's likely. TBH, he does seem fairly washed.
