  1. Past hour
  2. fug yall. Yall hated on Cam when he was here. I was born on this forum from that hate. Don’t act like yall appreciated that man.
  3. Wouldn't have been a bad play if the pick had been McConkey.
  4. IIRC, he isn't exactly coming from an impoverished background in the first place. I think this is just the realization for the first time in his life that he is unable to make this next leap up to the NFL level. This isn't rare, dozens and dozens of players hit this wall every single season. Hell, think about how many guys we typically acquire in each individual draft that hit this wall, largely due to our dogshitt evaluation capabilities. Edit: I am tripping. I was talking about Bryce, not XL. I actually have zero idea about XL's background. I suppose he can't be TOO poor if he is a horse owner. That ain't a cheap hobby.
  5. He has a heftier contract than you would think. I think the issue is that the Texans will want likely more than he is worth. They are in no great need of trading him. I am fine with Mills as a bridge attempt, no issue with that. I just don't want to be seeing top 4 round draft picks headed out the door, even considering our lack of ability to capitalize on them.
  6. You're gonna mess around and hurt someones feelings
  7. Today
  8. He’s set financially for life barring complete fiscal lunacy. He has $12.3 million guaranteed. Think about that. Twelve million three hundred thousand dollars, he’ll be 28 years old when his contract is up and he’s completely forgotten about if he never plays another down in the NFL if he so chooses. Say after taxes he ‘only’ brings home $6M (fire your accountant territory) and parks $4M in a run of the mill mutual fund… good God… What I’m getting at, IF homie ain’t feeling the NFL, he has 12,300,000 reasons to take the fewest NFL edition ass kickings as possible while waiting out his very wealthy non-football future. Obviously completely talking out of my a$$ with this… but if you hated contact, didn’t want to live with a completely wrecked body for the rest of your life and you know you’re set financially… what path would you take, assuming you’re cool with being a quitter (not calling him a quitter, I’m just playing out a scenario)? Why do so many first rounders bust? Where was he before his one year wonder if he was such a stud? Everybody likes the dude on a personal level. How could you not? …. but I like seeing a winning product even more. He doesn’t play like his head is in the game. The Why is where the speculation lies and helps to clarify if his issues are ‘fixable’ or not.
  9. Very likely that he needs another season or two to really find his groove. It very well may not be here where he has his best season. He’s a physical standout, but he can’t seem to get his focus and mentality right. That non-catch where he didn’t get his second foot in bounds was a truly awful display of this. Every professional in this game makes that catch. Last week, it was clear that he wasn’t playing in top gear. Like so many young people these days, he wants success without working hard. He wants maximum reward for minimum effort. He wants to rest on talent. But talent alone won’t cut it. The foolishness of youth and inexperience. He can have it all if he wants it. Seems like he’s content to be a social media star and a forgettable football player.
  10. If we aren’t there by now with this club then it’s close.
  11. I was going to joke and have the Chiefs throw in 2 first rounders..... But as soon as the Mahomes/Bryce trade comes through we need to hit accept and have Mahomes on the very first flight out here; no negotiation needed lol.
  12. It will be interesting this year to see if spending time with some of the best QBs and play callers in the league changed Wentz at all. I really think Mills is starter material. He wasn’t awful despite being apart of two dumpster fire seasons before Demeco got there. Plus he would have zero issues seeing over the line.
  13. I feel like for once every one of those guys held back. And I think there is a 5'9 100% attitude guy that they're almost hesitant to speak out against. This is the fact of the matter, it's sports. When you win, fans cheer. When you lose, fans boo. Especially consistently year after year with no end in sight. Instead of just talking about us being the Bible belt maybe talk about how we've never once in the franchise history had back to back winning seasons. We love the team, we loved and celebrated Cam and Steve, and even guys like Jake that we love not just because of talent but because of his spirit as the face of the team. But they all won. Fans pay a lot of money on gear, and on these overpriced tickets to go out and see a horrible product. I've slowed down on watching games because I realized I was spending 4 hours of my day getting annoyed watching a consistently bad product. Outside of a few hopeful games at the end of last year Panthers football hasn't even been enjoyable to watch. When I flip the channel to a Ravens/Eagles game it almost feels like I'm watching a different sport. I wouldn't just focus so much attention on the city, I'd ask based on the results are they justified.
  14. If he is, we’ve entered the seventh circle of hell…
  15. Is shove my dick in a doorjam if we did another experiment with a bust QB. Also, I don’t think the franchise will survive another bad qb. People are on the verge of not showing up anymore. This would be the death nail
  16. I’ll trade young for anyone of them straight up.
  17. I’d rather watch DB play QB at this point.
  18. DJ Johnson just ticked too many boxes on the warning list. Unpolished/raw at his position, older guy, etc. Project players don't belong in the top 3 rounds, IMO. Not on teams completely bereft of talent. The Ravens, 49ers, etc of the world can get away with that. It's hard to justify that in the condition our roster usuallu is.
  19. Trust me, I wasn't either. Just seemed like another TMJ, Mingo, etc. Well.....turns out it was.
  20. Upper tier backups have good options available. Also, hitching your bandwagon to a career backup isn't likely to pan out. Mills is a possibility, but that would have to be a trade. He is under contract through 2026. Same with Lock, under contract through 2026.
  21. Fishing around in the dumpster isn't the answer. Get better at prospect evaluation is literally the only answer. Or maybe drastically overpay some aging veteran, which seems like an unwise idea.
  22. That’s basically the old baseball cliche, we can lose 100 games without you.
  23. One last thing, they could have brought Lock in this year, right? Didn’t for some reason. I know that when Canales got here they talked to him and he had committed elsewhere. But I didn’t see that they talked to him this year. That means something, but who knows what. I’d like to see a process of selection Re QB that didn’t include Bryce in whatever considerations get considered. What would we do without him murking up the waters.
  24. Lol I was trying to say I was close to bailing. English is a funny language sometimes.
