I have no problem with them saying they had a great week of practice. I believe them. i literally read this earlier: It’s simple. And Jaycee is alluding to it. The play calls were working, but the Pats took off on us with Bryce missing wide open passes at least 3 drives in a row, starting with the throw off the Pats’ players facemask. It also became abundantly clear that the staff doesn’t trust BY at all. Once he missed the open throws, they usually tried to run with minimal success, then tried to pass again which resulted in failure. The plays were there to be made. The guy pulling the trigger can’t make them. That’s why the drives stalled. Then, as the blueprint has played out with Bryce since he became starter, the snowball starts rolling and eats up all the little pieces in its path along the way. The offense can’t sustain drives, the other team picks up momentum, the defensive morale goes down the shitter and they start giving up everything, etc. The offense kills every fuging semblance of confidence and momentum every week. These games look wildly different if we had any kind of ability to sustain drives and score TDs on offense. It’s like being a pitcher with no run support… you can keep pitching lights out, but when you don’t get any support, you start to crack. That’s what happens to the rest of our team every fuging Sunday. The one guy that the entire team depends on is the worst player on the field more often than not, and it results in the rest of our team bearing the responsibility of it.

Dalton threw for 5/6 and 1 TD. What else could he have done better?

Official Week 4: Panthers at Patriots Gameday Thread
frankw replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
His numbers for the season so far are admittedly impressive. I'll be curious to see how he sustains it. I have a hard time believing he would be doing that here though. I think he's where he wanted to be which is a bigger market. -
I expect him to do zip, just like I expect this team to do zip.
-
Know what I’m tired of hearing? “We’re gonna watch the tape and fix our mistakes.” I think they play more ping pong than they watch tape.

I've become this guy...

I like PANTSERS better than Panthers. Demand a name change NOW!!!
-
That's the cycle. The field is stagnant until someone figured out the next thing to move the pile. A huge chunk of old school baseball was such fluff. The ugly girlfriend in moneyeball comes to mind. Thay entire scout scene was hilarious from the 'expertise' they slang.
-
I wouldnt describe what they are doing as playing football

Actually you can still have a chance when you don't have a QB. John Fox made it work with Tim fuging The Golden Calf of Bristol. Quincy Carter made the playoffs. Mark Sanchez. There's plenty of data on teams competing hard, even when not winning, when they have a terrible QB. It's hard, but you can. Something tells me if you put Dalton in the rest of the season the team will still go 4-13 or worse. There's no excuse for Panthers sucking all three phases. Canales clearly can't figure it out, or he doesn't have the balls to make changes, so he has to go. He's running the same poo. He and Evero both. There are no adjustments at halftime.
-
Canales will probably be another guy who takes Tepper’s money and runs. He’s soft, he coaches soft and he basically lets the players run the team. Probably a great guy but not HC material.
-
I just don't want PFF's analytics guys tho. Give me number crunches and not guys selling their angles. Hard pass on that. I would rather take analysis from non financially biased people.

I certainly wouldn't describe the way the Panthers played on Sunday as confident.
-
I mean, the Harbaugh brothers, Campbell, Vrabel, etc are all coaching. The NIL era kids really haven’t made it to the NFL yet
-
The overall vibe I get from Dave Canales on gamedays is he not a head coach. He's just running the offense and hands off with everything else. At the same time it's challenging to guage specifically where the lack of consistent intensity and aggressive football stems from when the go to defacto leader of the team is quiet unsure of himself and lacks the necessary physical tools to succeed at this level.
-
it is really difficult to lose 16 games in the NFL no matter how bad you look. The Panthers play enough bad teams to expect another couple of teams to come in, completely eat poo, and let us sneak out with a 16-10 victory or something. Like I can't imagine we lose to the Jets unless their defense just balls out.
-
Why did we even re-sign BC? Did he finger somebody’s butthole? Steal someone’s dog? Kick a coach’s grandma? The reluctance to play him is baffling.
-
So much of this flows from no one having confidence in the QB play. That's why it's time to move on from Young right now. It's killing everything about the team. Trade a late round pick for a backup and roll with them and Dalton the rest of the way.

I’m not sure this new generation would even respond to having their manhood challenged. I could see it becoming an HR issue before it motivated anybody.
