I have as much worry that moving on from Bryce will burn thr team any more than when we move on from Andy or Corbett or when we moved on from Ian Thomas. Unless he finds a team that has HOF WRs and a 150 yard a game RB there is no chance you will constantly see good Bryce. They will never build that around Bryce here when he is almost at his 5th year option and the last chances to stack a team around a rookie contract is freaking hilarious to me. The closest chance he had left is leaving here and going somewhere on the cheap that has those things until they give him a starter range QB contract which would just be Bryce here again. I see nothing in his game to indicate that another coaching staff is going to look at him and say "If we can get this guy from the Panthers, it'll solve all of our issues at starting QB". He's at best a backup to steady the ship until a top level starter is able to regain control. That's exactly how I feel. When I watch BY play in Carolina I don't see anything in his game to indicate that he's a guy that is going to keep the Panthers in playoff contention year in and year out. If Canales and Morgan are going to succeed then they should have the right to pick THE GUY THAT THEY WANT AND BELIEVE IN AS A QB. If Canales and Morgan are going to be canned then they next QB/GM duo should gave the right to pick THE GUY THAT THEY WANT AND BELIEVE IN AS A QB. No one should have to coach this team with stipulation that "Young is your starting QB no matter what".

The board doesn’t seem to have the patience to allow Canales to try a new QB. If that is representative of the rest of the fan base it is going to get ugly.

The real fun question is going to be who Tepper loses patience with first. Bryce? Dave? Dan? I don't think it will be at the same time, I think it's gonna be spread out. I somewhat suspect Dave will be first, Bryce will be second and Dan will be last.

That is the biggest thing, his floor is Andy vs Buffalo bad and he has not raised it to where we know we won’t see that again. We have seen it opening the season three years running. His ceiling is Dallas, but that hasn’t happened but a small handful of games in 2.5 years. And he has yet to show that if a decent team shuts down our run game they will pay. I think he needs to show that in these remaining games or we should move away from him.

I have preached patience with Canales and will continue to do so, but it is an absolutely fatal flaw if he doesn't but Chuba into the RB2 role. Rico Dowdle is the only chance that this offense has of being respectable. There are two ways this season goes down for Canales: 1 - Stay scrappy, maybe sneak into the playoffs if we run the offense around Rico, get a mid to low first round pick, attempt to draft more "support" for Young. This is actually a worst case scenario for Canales because he can't go get his QB and we are stuck trying to build the team around minime. 2 - Be who we thought we were. Trash. See Young for what he is, trade or release him, draft a new QB that is coming to a squad with a lot of offensive talent and let Canales really have HIS guy. The question is will Tepper have the patience to keep Canales on board if this is how the season goes.

If you think the GM has any control over the building of this team you're dead wrong. That's 100% Tepper. I think at best the GM is effectively a consultant for the fat yankee owner of the team.

I don't think the QB was going to win the game for us. A ball control rushing offense would have. Especially one featuring heavy Rico usage. But Canales had other ideas, obviously. And we see how well that worked out.
