I think the expectations should be 10 wins, division title. Top ten D. Do I expect that? No.

Given the draft makeup after the top-10 or so, I feel many teams are going to be hoping for trade downs. Which makes downward movement a bit more tricky. So they may just go for the best impact they see fit and surprise. I mean, can use someone at all levels of our defense (ILB, DE, S and Slot). Offense need more OL bodies and could use another WR. No way we can be zeroed in on a particular position. Makes me damn curious to our board and how they’re weighing immediate vs long term impact. I still see multiple guys rather than positions in play. S: Thieneman, McNeil-Warren ILB: Rodriguez, Allen DL: Faulk, McDonald WR/TE: Saddiq, Cooper, Boston, Conception OL: Freeling, Proctor, Lomu, Iheanachor Heck, even the EDGE group in our range is interesting like Parker. - Then there’s these guys that are in that 19/51 fringe range that seem to be really good fits-Haulcy, J Rod, Golday, etc.

I guess I could see it if we got breaks, but we got the breaks this year and it was still 8 wins. Also I dont see TB crumbling, they are a competent franchise that hit the injury bug last year I dont know what to think about NO so theres that. Atlanta majorly upgraded at coach so there is always something to having a competent grown up leading a team.

Glad he's coming back but honestly surprised. I guess the new staff convinced him there was going to be PT for him. It was baffling how Hubert never played him. Its not like we were a top 10 type team looking like a contender and had it all figured out. We should've been giving him opportunities. There was no reason not to. Utter lack of bench development and hard headedly running his starters into the ground because he was afraid to go to his bench was an knowing issue with Hubert that he just wasn't growing out of with more HC experience. If you don't play them how are they supposed to develop? And his starters could do no wrong. Didn't matter what they did, they wouldn't get yanked and their playing time wouldn't decrease. But if a bench guy came in and made one mistake he was probably getting buried for three or four games. That's a recipe for your starters playing sloppy and your bench playing tight and scared. Saw it year after year.

Nah, 10 wins this coming season. NFCSouth crown a second time, modest run in the playoffs. Tampa Bay is going to crumble. New Orleans is a couple of years behind us on the rebuild, but they've got a good young QB. Atlanta is a rumbling wreck.

I was pretty close with him--we'd PM on occasion. I know he had some health concerns, so I wondered if that was it--seemed to be a good guy. I can't imagine what he would have said to be banned.

Then he went to New Orleans, I believe, and it seemed he caught everything.

I am going from memory, but I think XL had 14 drops his rookie year. TMAC had 8 in 2025. Often, these drops are drive killers. They have 1 job. Coker, the most physically-limited WR we have, ha never dropped a pass. 22 games, 65 catches, 5 TDs, zero drops.

Gin was also older by the time he got here. I remember him routing quite a few defenders, still.

Oh, he had world.class.speed, which I mentioned, but you appear to be correct about his twitchiness. After just a quick Google, apparently it was his inability to understand route concepts is what really led to his journeyman status in the league. Depending upon whom you look at, most say Concepcion has a good understanding of routes (but, of course, there's always room for growth). But, like Ginn, at least to this stage, Concepcion has had his fair share of drops.

This reminds me of when we started hearing that XL would be the pick--I did not want it to be true--, and he told the media that the Panthers told him he would be their pick....Horn (SC), Ickey (NCSU), XL (SC), Concepcion (NCSU)---we do have our fishing holes. Bill Polian and Bill Lekas on Chalk Talks SiriusXM radio this morning. Polian needs to retire (again). First he talks about Andy Dalton as our backup and then suggests trading down to get Sadiq. Clueless. At least he brought up the hole losing Ashawn Robinson caused.

I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).

It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch

I'm more surprised our odds to win the division didn't really improve that much after free agency (like +380 -> + 320). I threw a few hundred on us to win the division again at +425 back in February, just because I figured Atlanta and Tampa would get worse. After our free agency, I am still surprised Tampa is the favorite to win the division.

In a game that only matters for health and to see Kooooooch back.
