  1. Past hour
  2. Doing these kinds of things with a player like Owens is kind of a double-edged sword. Amazing ability, production, etc but also huge amounts of hype, self-promotion, media coverage and things of that sort. I remember one NFL guy talking about coaches (I think) who were objectively phenomenal coaches but didn't really get a lot of attention or job offers because they weren't self-promoters. In a world with Internet, social media and 24 hour sports coverage, It's not that difficult for even great players to be overhyped.
  3. This team, especially this offense, is so deflating for me as a fan. Still rooting like you said, but my energy is going towards things less frustrating.
  4. Have to have an adult in the room to say No when someone needs to say it. Getting what you want comes with a price tag and it's shocking that they couldn't see this one coming. This team has been eating it's own failures for having no one in their room to stand up and say No too. Just an owner vs franchise QB.
  5. I've made the T-Mac to Fitz comp numerous times. Everyone wanted to compare him to Mike Evans I just never saw that. Mike Evans dominates physically. T-Mac is more like Fitz in that he's a tall receiver who is good enough athletically but really wins more on polished route running and natural ball skills than by physically dominating. Now I'm not saying that T-Mac is gonna be Fitz, I'm just making the stylistic comp. I will just throw it out there though that Fitz led the 24th ranked Cardinals' passing offense with 58 catches for 780 yards and 8 TDs as a rookie while T-Mac is leading the 25th ranked Panthers'passing offense with 59 catches for 853 yards and 6 TDs with 3 games to play so there is that...
  6. He does have a limited frame to work with. But the fact he is only 24 years old has $39 million in the bank in contract money before any endorsements and seemingly can't even be bothered to attempt to make any attempt whatsoever to add even minimal bulk is just pitiful. And he's opened the season three years in a row playing awful football. I mean that's a guy who has been handed starting gigs his whole life
  7. Yeah, he is just a naturally smaller framed dude. I don't think bulk would do him a lot of favors. More likely it would hinder his elusiveness and make him an even less effective passer.
  8. Yeah, that would have to be a real breakdown of tape. I will say his first three years in the league were pretty good on the tackling front, so it was a surprise to see those stats.
  9. No doubt but that shouldn't have an impact on the missed tackles. I will say that it is certainly possible that since our LB's and safeties struggle in run support and tackling that perhaps more of these guys are getting back to the CB's than necessary. That's certainly a possibility.
  10. Bryce looks like a guy who hasn't touched the weight room in 3 years. He's built like a dude that eats avocado lettuce wraps and does pilates.
  11. I think you're going down the right path. He's really, really aggressive and it bites him in the arse from time to time.
  12. Wilson and Murray are built like RB's. Very stocky and powerful legs. Bryce is built like a tiny, spindly slot WR.
  13. All our DBs, including Jaycee, would look a lot better if we didn't have the worst pass rush in the league
  14. Fitz is sort of like Jerry Rice in that there isn't anything physically that necessarily makes him so elite, they were both just masterful at their craft. Fitz was a MFer in a 50/50 ball scenario, too. One of the best of all-time at that, IMO.
  15. This isn't bashing Horn, I just didn't realize he was trending so poorly on the tackling front the past two seasons. I do remember a couple of really bad ones this season but not that many. It might be something you would need to sit down and look at each play. Maybe going for broke on a strip or diving in desperation after getting beaten badly? It's not something I associate with Horn so it was a surprise to see him being that bad.
  16. Yeah, we should definitely bring in a QB to stick in just for the short yard sneaks. And while we're at it, get a guy to sub in for any end of game/half hail mary throws, since Bryce can't do that either. ...and probably about 50 other plays that Bryce can't handle. So maybe just get a new QB altogether and stop wasting a roster spot on the midget.
  17. Fitz is criminally underrated because he wasn't a freak of an athlete. He's #2 on the all-time receiving yards list by a comfortably margin and #6 for TDs. He's another guy that I wouldn't put at #2 but the argument can be made.
  18. I wouldn't put him #2 either I'm just acknowledging that a legitimate argument could be made for it.
  19. Only guy on that list with an argument over TO is Megatron.
  20. Well he was a liability versus the Saints all season, outlier or not.
  21. I have no idea what the thought on Bryce is inside the building or how much pressure Tepper is putting on the situation but fear of Tepper's Panthers doing something utterly idiotic is very well founded.
  22. Number two would put him over guys like Fitzgerald, Irvin, Harrison and Megatron. Not sure I could go that high.
  23. Honestly, I have this fear, as well. I don't think think there is a gap between what the coaching staff, FO and ownership thinks of Bryce and what the general public/fanbase thinks. I think there is a chasm. IMO, they are basically ready to hand this guy the keys to the franchise and for all the "if Dave Canales had..." lines of logic that people spout, I think he may be bought in the hardest of anyone outside of Tepper.
