  1. Past hour
  2. I agree it is more about the OL. If you happen to have a world beater with a great OL then that’s better obviously but you don’t need to have that. Capable and durable guys that can get to the second level with good blocking can be plenty.
  3. I think Gibbs is special, but you’re right, some of the top investments have proven to not be much different than some 2nds and 3rds. Taylor for example is on an MVP level season. James Cook is doing better than Breece Hall for example. Raiders weren’t in a good spot to draft Jeanty. Same with the Falcons/Bijan. You gotta swing at the right time — the investment shouldn’t come too early. You almost have to stumble into a guy mid to late rounds while building or find that guy to put you over the top when the team is finally well rounded.
  4. Like I said in another post yesterday, the handling of the offensive line by Fitterer and mostly Morgan has been crazy. We've spent way too much money(Lewis and Hunt) to keep Bryce upright instead of using our picks in the 2nd round on JPJ and Frazier. Could have kept an injured Corbett at guard, Brady at swing, and still taken Maye as a backup, sorry Zavala. We wouldn't have taken XL, but XL hasn't been as advertised anyway, and Brooks hasn't contributed anything. Moton's extension with it's signing bonus made him uncutable. Icky's contract was due at the same time Bryce's 3rd year ended, and we all know it's extension or 5th year, and if we're going to do a 5th year, he's going to want the extension. To me the whole thing is just ridiculous. Right now, depending on if Tepper decides to keep Bryce, it feels like we're going to have to choose between Icky and a Bryce extension. Maybe he plays on the 5th year, but I think he'll want the big money guarantee. JMO, but if you took a look at how the contracts could potentially fall, the writing was on the wall that this could be a cash flow nightmare. Too many contract guarantees, not enough rookie contracts to offset the upcoming paydays.
  5. Well, if Carolina wanted to trade him…..you start telling them where you would be willing to go. seems that’s how it went down. We wanted to deal him for the tank job (that failed)…..and he selected where he would go.
  6. Precisely. It’s why some teams are fine with the committees and they work out great. Others feel like they’ve found “a guy” but that’s where I caution us to jump too quickly to a conclusion just because of a few games.
  7. Depends what week it is. On very rare occasions it is maybe 7 or 8 tops but most weeks it is 20 to 25 ans some weeks it is about 30.
  8. Definitely not warrented. He struggled his first season but you can attribute some of that to who was playing next to him. He's definitely better in the run game and gotten better a PassPro. IMO worth keeping for a career.
  9. Perfect analogy. Great Movie BTW seen it several times. One of my favorite movies.
  10. Honestly, probably several. But the bigger issue is can Bryce finally break his own ceiling? Last Sunday was an incredible game. We can't expect that level of incredible, but we'd like to see consistency. If Bryce can add a solid game this week, that's a good first step. I saw an interesting video from Brett Kollmann (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABoLgCdTgZc if you're interested) about the perils of pulling support to quickly on coaches, QBs and staffs in the NFL. I still think we ride the Bryce train in 2026, add legit competition from FA, and see what kind of guy he's going to be. Bryce can't be a week 10-17+ QB. He's got to be more consistent on a game to game basis. I hope we can see that soon. You can absolutely count a pretty high number of "better qbs" but you'd also have to compare their situation.
  11. Nice compliment, but is "total bust" warranted?
  12. I don't think you absolutely have to have a "world beater" if you have a stellar offensive line. Not against fishing for a guy like that but a two back rotation behind a good set of uglies can work just as well.
  13. underrated part of games against west coast teams is they tend to struggle with 1pm east coast games
  14. There are 24 with higher qb ratings (below league average) 23 with higher completion pct (below league avg) 20 with higher td % (below league avg) Hes above league avg in int % 22 with a higher qbr 27 with a higher yds per attempt (below league avg) Hes a bottom 3rd qb in pretty much everything
  15. we sent him back to his college town to play for a super bowl contender and got him away from the stench of the rhule era if anything he owes us 2 fumbles
  16. Just because you throw for a lot of yards doesn’t mean you’re a good quarterback. Passing yardage is kinda overrated. Name the 30 better quarterbacks
  17. Yea there’s a good reason I chose Moose as my avatar
  18. Yea I don’t necessarily think it makes that big of a difference. Guys typically always want to go off on their former team whether it was FA or whatever caused them to leave.
  19. I don't think being a podcaster has been good for Steve. There was a time where I thought he had learned from the immaturity of his playing days. The Shannon Sharpe interview he talked about going to therapy, battling depression, wishing he had been a better teammate, it seemed like he genuinely was a changed man and in a better place mentally. And then his behavorial care facility in Charlotte felt like nice closure on it all. But then he started doing more podcasts and stuff and all that kind of unraveled. Steve strikes me as a guy who absolutely reads the comments and has to say something back. It's part of what makes him entertaining as analyst, but I think working for the NFL Network helped him keep it all in check. Like his beef with Jeff Jeudy started off with disrespectful but in the end he kept it professional and apologized. He doesn't have to answer to anyone on his podcast so there's no filter when the old Smitty pops back out. I'm not a therapist but I'm not sure it's a healthy platform for a guy battling a lifelong chip on his shoulder.
  20. I feel like everyone is asking this. He had a no trade clause so he wanted to go to San Fran.
  21. Considering he is ranked near the bottom of the league even after this game. There are at least 30.
  22. You have to restock somehow. And you can’t pay everybody. By the time the WRs and QB are due for the big money you need to have a way figured that the OL can have some rookie contracts to offset that.
  23. Today
  24. Also completely unrelated. I don't know what it is, but I really don't like the old North Star scheme that the Wild used last night. The green and yellow scheme is probably my favorite color scheme in all of sports. (eg. Packers, Oakland A's). I know that North Stars look is a classic, but man its ugly. I don't know how they messed it up. I guess it's kinda like the Kings purple and yellow uniforms they wore ages ago. Maybe these colors just aren't meant for hockey lol. Anyways, here's wonderwall.
