Oh lord, I'm having flashbacks...

https://www.panthers.com/news/american-airlines-named-an-official-airline-partner-of-the-carolina-panthers-and-charlotte-fc-providing-fans-with-exclusive-travel-benefits-and-experiences I mean, the marketing writes itself to call this partnership a "Touchdown" but the Panthers don't know much about those anymore. Thank you, thank you. I'll be here sometimes.

Everything revolves around Bryce This Year
PantherChris replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hooker is exactly what I thought he would be... trash lol. Dude is 28 and it's the start of his third NFL season. -
I really hope we don't use the TE position as a huge tell on the coming play. Having a receiving TE and a blocking TE is good in theory but it's a huge liability if it becomes a big time tell on the upcoming play.

Everything revolves around Bryce This Year
panthers55 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we pick in the top 10 because the offense didn't perform you are right. And I would be all for it. I was advocating bringing in one this year to provide competition. Bryce is still got to show an upward projection from where he was last year. I was thrilled and shocked by his improvement but let's be real the floor after the first 2 games was the basement not even the ground floor. It had to improve. Maybe Hooker can be that guy if Bryce struggles. I Iiked him coming out of college -
Steve Reed @SteveReedAP · 37m TE Ja'Tavion Sanders has really improved as a pass catches, per Dave Canales. (It sorts of sounds like he will be the primary pass receiver at that position, but nothing etched in stone). Joe Person @josephperson · 40m Dave Canales says he remains "super hopeful" on left tackle Ikem Ekwonu's status for the opener at Jacksonville. Didn't practice today and likely won't on Monday (players have the long weekend off). Ekwonu is recovering from an emergency appendectomy. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 40m Canales is “super hopeful” Ekwonu practices next week. But Brady Christensen and Yosh Nijman are splitting LT reps in the meantime.

Darin Gantt @daringantt · 42m Canales: Another physical day in pads. LG Damien Lewis was full go in individual. Didn't take team reps, but on schedule to start practicing fully next week.

Everything revolves around Bryce This Year

If we bring in a top 10 QB Bryce is pretty much done. No potentially take over. Bryce will be his backup. -
started to make a new thread, but I'll put it here. Adam when asked about Bryce https://x.com/alec_lewis/status/1961118454922068204

One thing I will say is you always have to get in the last word and keep repeating yourself as if that makes you right. Since Bryce and Canales are on the same page and this pffensive scheme us designed for Bryce uour round peg argument is off base as well. But don't let that stop you since it hasn't in the past. Unless you can say something new or use facts and expert opinions to back up your comments as I have, I am done. You clearly have nothing to add to the conversation but the same circular comments which are simply your unsupported opinions. I don't have time to waste going back and forth. Carry on. -
since this a Thielen thread, here's my 2 cents....Mentoring is one thing, but could there've been bad advice also. Not saying he purposely told Young bad advice but not all advice is good. Look at that Raiders game, before that Thielen was clearly upset with Young(hence his benching) but Thielen got hurt, Young came back better. N we really didn't beat the Raiders(they beat themselves, there was a bit of anarchy going on remember, D.Adams perform a coup) Just like Young first yr, the coaches (Frank) wanted to sabotage Young(hence the fastest hire n fire coach in history proves that. Young is a good seed we planting but we first have to get rid of the bad apples. Thielen saw his time coming to an end and wanted to leave n go home. Just like Renfrow, slow, n sorry but I'm so glad we don't have to hear about his comeback story every time we play. Thielen was reliable, but we need speed. And he beat up, still has lingering injury issue, oh but ya'll didn't know that(or maybe u do if u look at the details of his trade). Dan just got him off the books and got some capital, GREAT JOB DAN...btw Morgan push for Young over CJ, and it's no coincidence Canales was picked to coach Young up. At the end of the day, with Tmac, XL, Coker(probably will break some of Smitty's records except the triple crown but if he does oh boy). Coker needs to be on the field. He couldn't with Thielen in the picture.

Bryce won't go anywhere until his rookie deal is up. If we pick in the top 10 next year it will be bringing in another qb to challenge and potentially take over. -

I mean, I would assume....you are intentionally missing the point. The point of bringing up Teddy was merely to bring up a very recent example......of trying to wish a QB who clearly is a specific type of QB...into something different. Which fans did that here as well. Teddy was a risk adverse, checkdown QB. But if that was brought up when folks wanted him to be something different, they would attack you for saying such. It's ALSO why I brought up Jake as well in the same post. You might want Jake to be less risk adverse.....it might work occasionally.....but Jake would always be Jake at the end of the day. If your QB is a round peg, and you want/need him to be a square peg..... that's a largely a waste of time. If your offense needs a square peg QB, you should get a square peg QB. I have no interest in rehashing how loud and wrong you were about the Frank Reich and Matt Rhule seasons at this exact point in time in those seasons....and your high horse approach of how dare folks question the powers that be entering those years. Be a goldfish. I have enjoyed our annual preseason disagreement. As always. -
If we bring him back cool. If not it's not as if it's going to make or break the season.

Don't think your comparisons are germaine. Teddy and Bryce are nothing alike. And no I am not always right or wrong but the difference is I let the experts inform me and follow those who do know. And after all the constant wrong takes you go on and on about just like this one, I don't feel like we are kindred souls or like minded. I will be glad to compare my takes versus yours anytime. And have no clue what you are talking about regarding stern lectures. But I can see around here if you take a constant negative approach to everything you get a lot of support and given our track record you may be right about some things. I don't live my life that way nor do I constant like to complain like you. -
Never, and it doesn't have to be an old grizzled vet, sometimes a vet can learn something from a young player too. Do you not see players talking to each other between plays, quarters, on the bench, wherever, in EVERY sport? It's what players do, especially the great ones, they're always working on their craft and learning tips from others to better themselves. So when your entire receiving room outside of one player, who has mostly played special teams in his career, has played 1 season or less in the NFL, it's not a lot of experience there in the locker room and on the sideline and is a tad concerning in regards to the proper growth of all these young WRs with great potential.

New Sunday Ticket pricing option available
tukafan21 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
So me "putting my foot down" would be me spending more money each season to watch the games without sound at the bar? Do you not see how dumb that sounds? Streaming a game here or there isn't tough, but doing it for 17 games a season, when more than half the time the quality is terrible if it's even working at all, and it's just an awful experience to follow your favorite team. It's literally spending at minimum an extra $100 a season to have a worse viewing experience if I were to "put my foot down" as you say, and then don't get to also be able to easily watch all my fantasy players as a bonus on top. I spent at over a dozen years going to the bar every Sunday to watch us play, so now that I get to watch from the comfort of my couch, plus get all the other games, and spend less money doing so, yea, I'm going to pay that money without a second thought, it's a great deal for me and tons of other fans. -

I wanted Stroud as well because Reich only wanted folks who fit his scheme and he isn't a good enough coach to adapt to his players. Canales didn't have that choice and was hired knowing that his job was developing Bryce. To his credit he was able to embrace the challenge and make the necessary changes.
