No playoffs = Styles Playoffs = somebody else

Bryce is IMO a little better than his numbers indicate but he's never going to win you a Superbowl (minus weird poo) from what we've seen so far. And I think the front office generally knows that. The very fact Morgan talked about making every room including QB better and being open to bringing in someone means that they aren't blind to Young's current play. They are hedging their bets he improves but yeah.
-
I'm sure he regrets leaving Carolina becuse he was non-existent after he left and he was a key part of Carolina's offense. Great guy and I wish him the best.

Hate that drop for Jimmy Horn (ball was behind him) but Jimmy should have been getting way more routes weeks ago over XL

Should Canalas bring someone else in to call offensive plays?

This is a rare situation where the fans are probably more objective than the front office because Evero should be gone and Canales should give up play calling. Neither of these things will happen because Morgan and Tepper don't want to impact any momentum now that this team is finally somewhat relevant and competing. -
no doubt, IF we ran Tmac/Thielen/Coker our offense would have been better. In fairness though, if we ran Tmac/a trashcan filled with used condoms/Coker it would still be more productive than having XL on the field.
-
That's true, was just thinking hypothetically if Thielen had come back in that David Moore role we would have had a little bit more productive offense on moving the sticks
-
Im signing Sky Moore just to be a returner
-
Pretty darn good trade for us in hindsight, had some short term issues for a while there esp with Coker immediately getting injured after the trade. But it worked out for the best.
-
Alec Pierce would be expensive but worth it aswell
-
nah, was a blessing in disguise cuzz they wouldnt have benched XL, Coker would have been a buried depth piece and never gotten opportunities.

I would prefer someone from the outside to help grow Dave or Idzik as a playcaller. He has some potential but there have been several games where he was simply outmatched by his opponent. Dan leaving it to Dave means I kind of doubt it will happen, but it would do this staff a lot of good if it did. -
I was harping on finishing 1-3 after the bye. I didn’t extrapolate back 8 games and surely didn’t realize that it was a 2-6. Lol. Playoffs! But they showed up for the game pretty well. Yeah I understand the bar is raised competitively next year. I also understand you are anti Morgan but I liked a lot of what I heard in his press conference yesterday. He wants to build that defense. This Icky thing is a complication though.

FWIW my buddy knows a lot of people who work for the falcons and they seem to think they’re gonna get harbaugh if he wants to coach.

The hope would be that people under/around that OC would learn some things from him. -

The only option that allows both Dan and Dave to win here, is promoting Idzik to OC. This way, Dave can focus on the overall team concept and make sure he’s a HC more than a glorified OC that is overwhelmed. By the same token, I assume Idzik’s philosophy is a carbon copy of Canales’ since they’ve been connected at the hip forever. Much like marriage, this is the compromise and both leaders get what they want….while giving in to appease the other. -
Mike Tomlin stepping down as HC of the Steelers

Maybe you look at the GM as much as the coach. And Jones looked really good for sure, but who finished the year and at least got their team to the playoffs? -
We should entice him by offering quite a bit more than whatever Seahawks will propose. He’s a WR3 with WR2 potential. We need him here. One thing we’re overlooking is that he didn’t do much at WR in Seattle. Re-signing with them isn’t a given. He could have a bigger role elsewhere.

We might have inched past the Rams with Theilen as he might of helped us convert some of those 3rd and 4th downs. However, we likely wouldn’t have seen the emergence of Coker this year with Theilen taking his snaps away. The fact that we got picks for a retiring receiver is the real silver lining here.
