People like to say that, but I don't know if it's true. We went a few years trying to answer the QB question on the cheap amid bad coaching. We did what other teams do and tried to address QB by giving up a king's ransom and moving up. I mean, I guess that could be considered a "splash move," but I see it more as trying to draft the next big thing at QB. I think that he's been more impatient than anything else. He gave too much power to Rhule who didn't know what the hell he was doing and relied on Fitterer who left a lot to be desired as well. Sure, we may have tried to get Watson and Stafford, but that's all a part of trying to answer the question at QB. "Splash moves?" maybe, but I think it's just business as usual for teams without a QB. Parsons would be a "splash move," but he's about as sure a thing that you could acquire for the capital.
-
Yeah, not sure about that unless we really have a dominant offense, especially running game. If not.....then what was it worth?
-
I'd be ok with a 2nd and 4th and 6th for Hendrickson because I think that's at least in the realm of sanity but the haul that Dallas wants for Parsons is well into the realm of absolute insanity.
-
I wouldn't trade future 1sts for any non-QB in the league given our current situation. We gotta figure out QB. Hopefully Bryce is it but we can't be parting with future 1sts until we've solved that riddle.
-
I dont want to trade for them. Lets give the rooks the season to see what we have. We aren't 1 player away and giving up that much draft capital and then tying up that salary would hurt us for 2-3years. You only take swings like that when you're 1-2 players away.
-
How does anyone still think we're getting Parsons? Even if you trade a haul. Why would he want to play here?
-
if we trade him needs to be for ILB or corner depth or borderline starting safety.

Cam Jackson showed hella speed when he was out there. I was surprised by it actually. -
feels like just yesterday I was being lectured as a delusional non-objective hater for discussing an AT to Minny deal and why it could make sense for both parties.
-
I wouldn't even trade dj wonnum and two firsts much less what GB offered. lol
-
Anyone that wants us to do anything remotely close to that has completely lost their damn mind.
-
Information from good sources say that the Packers trade offer was real, so Dallas did in fact turn down two firsts, a second and Rashan Gary for Parsons. Jones has said they won't trade him, so he's probably going to stay stubborn or thinks he can get three firsts plus extra picks and a player back.
-
Tepper has been looking for this giant splash move that bypasses a rebuilding process ever since he bought the team. It's an approach that will most likely just continue to dig the hole deeper.
-
I don't get trading him for a late round pick, which we have historically been very bad at making. The return will amount to be 0 and just trading your best receiver last year for nothing. Trade him for depth piece at corner or linebacker, which we desperately need. Vikings have a ton of depth.
-
Because the opportunity to make such an acquisition comes around every once in a blue moon with a generational player so young. Players of his caliber are generally with their original teams for life. QBs can be drafted in the second round and succeed, just saying. Hell, Trent Dilfer (among a few others) has a Super Bowl ring. Hell, Jake Delhomme almost won one. And all of that is assuming that Bryce busts.

Opened this thread expecting to see Travelle Wharton vs. Damione Lewis the other day. I miss the real Carolina Panthers man.
-
I mean. Thielen being here or not being here is not going to push us in or out of the playoffs. That will come down to Bryce not regressing but taking huge strides and the young roster developing and Canales and his staff not getting outcoached. 35 year old Adam Thielen is not a needle mover.

Hell, I said it may be the game thread. Bryce P. already looked better than Plummer, if not Dalton. With some time in the system, he should easily be a decent backup. -
Long shot but any chance we could move the draft to 4pm Sunday? I got ambushed with family pictures at 6. If not I'll try to sneak to the side if possible. @ACobra289

Looked kind of like a bad square dance practice.

Why is the iron hot? We still have a massive question at QB. You can't go giving away another massive haul of picks when we still don't know that we have the solution at hte most important position in the game.

Thought Cam Jackson might make that list. Happy with what I’ve seen from Ransom. And love his idea for his cele. Heard someone say on a podcast, “watch Ransom is going to become their Kurt Coleman”. Can’t remember the podcast. Maybe Processing blue with mike kaye or something. -
A player like Micah Parsons ain't falling off trees. Just saying. In my opinion, NFL aficionados and fans use the term "generational" too generously, but I think that most people will agree that Parsons is in fact generational, so in my mind two firsts is a fair price to pay. Strike while the iron is hot, coach up your young talent, draft smart and play free agency like a Stradivarius, and you can find yourself among the competitive teams in the league, if not be an elite one over time.

Well, we didn't have 1st team/starters on either side of the ball make bottom five rankings. Could be because they did not play . . .
