  1. Past hour
  2. you simply cannot commit 2 more years to bryce with the way he is playing. Too many jobs on the line, too many players would be affected. And that is exactly what a team is doing if you pick up the 5th, rolling with him for 2 more years. There has to be a contingency plan
  3. Distressed assets are quality assets that are undervalued because of current management or ownership. Mayfield seems the perfect example. Browns and Panthers were what limited him. Not him. Jones and Mayfield were acquired cheaply because of this. Young doesn't fit this unless you think hes actually much better than he appears to be.
  4. Were the worst second quarter team. -62 point differential. Yikes
  5. Just a bad team .500 record is misleading. Good teams win games by taking advantage of end of first half and beginning of second half situations to build leads. Not surprisingly our biggest weakness.
  6. A high ceiling and/or highly drafted QB that didn't pan out with the initial or subsequent teams. Mayfield was not a distressed asset. The Panthers made that appear to be the case. Jones was an upper tier version of that what I am talking about but he also had success with the Giants. It was not all a mess. Think more of a Zach Wilson/Bryce Young/Sam Darnold classic bust.
  7. I was talking about free agents and not that draft. It was a terrible QB draft.
  8. Okay, okay. I get it. I will say that the pitch there was for two ADDITIONAL options. So, one being a "scratch and dent" QB isn't as critical, especially when paired with a rookie QB. That's just more darts at the board. Not the best strategy but it's better than standing pat with Dalton and whatever these couch QB's are. Ideally, you find a capable veteran but I really don't see that as likely.
  9. Sorry my joke was unclear. I was saying I didn’t want to go the distressed asset route because we already have one on the roster. (Bryce)
  10. Im not sure I understand the distressed asset analogy. Daniel Jones was a distressed asset. Mayfield too. They had the abilities but had a low valuation because of their previous management. Bryce Young is limited by his own characteristics.
  11. Well, two of the only QB's that have performed worse than Bryce are Gabriel and Ward. In limited time playing, only Ewers and Shough were worse than Gabriel and Ward.
  12. Today
  13. You want Dalton, Hooker or White??? What answer is on the roster?
  14. I keep telling people this. We got some people here insanely high on hopium. On Dalton, to continue to play and start a QB with a broken thumb makes Canales look even more insanely stupid as a head coach. If it happens again this week, even with Hooker/White as our only available options......I am 100% okay with terminating him immediately after the game. This level of stupidity is starting to get into Matt Rhule territory.
  15. I'd be open to trading Chuba but not for pennies on the dollar. The max we'd be offered is like a 4th or a 5th and that's not enough especially with the dead cap we'd have to eat if we did trade him. Chuba ran for 1200 yards last year and has been solid the years before that and I don't think we should just give him away for nothing. Now if a team like the Pats come forward with a real offer, I'd be open to listening.
  16. In fairness, the 2025 QB class has looked like absolute ass.
  17. It's not a massive investment so "beyond stupid" is hyperbolic. It's just generally unnecessary. At this point, the results have been basically very similar. He can elevate his game to moderate game manager levels at his peak and mostly he is a significantly below average NFL QB. He is essentially an upper half NFL backup QB at the moment. It's possible he develops eventually. I will never say it's IMPOSSIBLE for that to happen but does anyone honestly think that is likely? If so, based on what aspects of his 2.5 year career so far? Why does his gameplay look so similar to 2023 when the investments in the offense have been so immense?
  18. We do not need to see more. Bryce’s ceiling has been reached. He isn’t going to become a franchise QB. Giving him his fifth year would be beyond stupid at this point.
  19. I think we need to see more but a 5th year option gives you more time to evaluate and also gives team leverage in negotiations if his performance drastically improves.
  20. Yes. That's what you buy on a discount in free agency while the team keeps swinging in the draft and not spend multiple 1st, a starter and more on. Also it's year 3 so I have no idea what people are hoping a surge of improvement comes from at this point. It's not coming physically. Maybe he sits and fixes his mechanics after his stint here? Seems like a stretch given why they are the way they are but that's the only route I can guess and even then it's hitting jag QB levels. The only way he can bust harder at this point is by the team taking his 5th option and dragging out another 2 years of this crap and still go no where with it.
  21. I was advocating an older vet seeing as we already have a distressed asset as our QB1.
