  1. Past hour
  2. It's just time to pull the plug. We need to move on and Bryce needs to go seek a fresh start elsewhere. For every spark of hope there's a dozen seemingly hopeless counters.
  3. My thought is you have to have some vision. Dalton is ancient by NFL standards. His play last year was not good at all outside of 1 game. Bringing him back this year as a backup didnt make sense. He had no upside other than to make Bryce comfortable. Now if we had brought in a Howell, Winston, or another FA QB that fit Canales' style a little better we could have had 3 things. One, a real backup without the intent to just mail in the season if Bryce got hurt. Two, if Bryce reverted back to his season 1 and 2 opening form, we had another QB on the roster we could insert to potentially develop our offensive players as well as determine if our problem lies with our HC as well. And three, if Bryce didnt work out, we have a vet QB signed that is familiar with the system that can make the transition into next year without leaving us scrambling to draft a QB we may not want because we feel desperate to do so. Might not seem like much, but a little future planning with some built in contingencies makes sense, especially given where we are right now. But this is Carolina and we dont do poo like that.
  4. The NFL is a small fraternity and all these dudes know each other. They talk and know what’s what. Hey John, how’d that interview with Tepper go? … wait, he said what? I’d argue that Frank 100% knew what was coming his way. Not his first rodeo with an owner like Tepp. He knew the probably of getting lied to was about 100%, and I’d say he played his hand masterfully. Keep letting BY get killed by left sided speed rushers until Tep had no choice but to fire him before BY ended the season in traction. Canales is in WAY over his head and I’m sure is praying to get fired, but he lacks the savvy that Frank had.
  5. Bryce's intended yards per attempt are waaaay down this year and it isn't as if he's completing his passes further down field. I think something is off with Bryce relative to last year.
  6. Yeah it was a head scratcher alright. If im not mistaken another team did something like either that year or a season or two after but I cannot recall who it was. We might have set a trend on that.
  7. Geno Smith was a 10 year veteran when he finally had his breakout season with Canales as his….qb coach and passing game coordinator. Not his offensive coordinator. There’s no shortage of veteran qbs who finally had success in a good situation. baker mayfield, former rookie of the year, looked fine after he had a conversation with Sean McVay. The Bucs offense was even better in 2024 with Canales. regardless of what are reasonable expectations for Bryce, the whole qb whisperer thing has been nonsense from the go.
  8. You will see that and probably much more. Its the way people are now. Its all about getting attention for one reason or another. Amd it works as folks always fall for it.
  9. Yeah that’s right. I forgot about that. I liked Sam, but before he played… What a move.
  10. Not in the NFL. Colleges will hire anyone and he is an analyst this year right?
  11. We picked up Sam's as soon as we traded for him so I thought it was possible. I remember many of us complaining about the fact that they did that before he even put in a Panthers uniform. If im not mistaken Sam was going into his 4th year of his rookie contract.
  12. Lol those shoes were for him to wear. About a size 6
  13. Who gives a fug? Tell Lebron to pick his bitch ass up off the floor and stop flopping when he's built like an NFL DE. Yeah, Bryce is a shitty NFL QB but he's a helluva lot tougher than Lebron James.
  14. Im curious what the reaction would be if there was another benching. You had people who dont even watch football like that calling out the Panthers like lebron james for mistreating bryce. Lmao
  15. I don’t really know how that option thing works, and was unsure if it transferred with a trade unless we did it. Obviously your scenario a better option.
  16. Yeah lol Bryce gets compared to every other QB or player you can think of as an excuse. Drew Brees, current Sam Darnold, Tom Brady, Steph Curry...as the famous Katt Williams once said, "Mike Epps is probably doing Mike Epps, why don't you do you??" https://www.youtube.com/clip/Ugkxxc4HxsZj7h0BMMm-_szP9t2O8ci6HmAZ When is Bryce Young going to be Bryce Young and play as Bryce Young, the 1st overall pick?? Edit: This draft description of Brees does sound like Bryce though -- "he slipped due to concerns about his relatively short stature for a professional quarterback (6'0), a perceived lack of arm strength, and a sense that he had succeeded in college in a spread offense."
  17. someone will be available that no one anticipates right now. Geno was available last year for example
  18. If Urban Meyer can still get a job you have to be a pretty sh*ty individual to ruin your career in football.
  19. yea as bad as we are I really don't think we will be worse than those three. Now that being said if the NYJ come to town and beat up on us and we drop one of the Saints games who knows
  20. What was it about this week that made so many finally turn on Bryce? For whatever reason, it seems like the Patriots game was a turning point for many.
  21. Wouldn't it be better to trade him after year three and let someone else decide to pick up his option? Hell I would be willing to eat his rookie contract for a 4th round pick. Thats how disgusted I am with the situation.
  22. You are supposed to be able to tell from Bryce Young? It’s like giving a chef dog food and expecting a seafood dinner.
  23. or, and hear me out, maybe he's not in fact a QB whisperer
  24. Depends because these guys can do substantial damage to their profession careers vs you and me just moving elsewhere in our professions. The pool of NFL employees is pretty small vs other industries. Doesn't make sense to me for young guys like DC even with the cash in hand philosophy being always relevant. It gets guys who are dumb and don't know better or guys who know they aren't likely to get many chances IMO. Neither being good options
