Which Round Will Carolina Draft Sawyer Robertson?
PleaseCutStewart replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Robinson can learn to read defenses, he could be good for a short passing offense (wouldn't mind drafting him in the 6th or 7th). His deep ball is bad though and he floats it way too much -
Panthers bring back TE Feleipe Franks
SmokinwithWilly replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we could without breaking the bank in picks I would love to. He's been in Peyton's dog house for whatever reason. He's not a bad receiver from what I've seen in game, he just doesn't make the field a lot on game day. -
Probably a top 10 lock now.

Sounds like an inconsistent deep ball and turn over prone. I would rather roll the dice Drew Allar or Taylen Green for the better upside. None of these three would challenge Bryce in year one. -

Go for it. In the big scheme of things we could survive missing a single pick even at 19. 4th or 5th round? -
Icky is no guarantee to ever return to football, plus his salary is already 100% guaranteed. He's on the books no matter what. BC is coming off an Achilles injury and played much better at guard than he ever did at tackle, not to mention, Achilles is usually a 2 year recovery to full performance level. BC would be on a very low cost prove it deal. He only made 2.8m last year anyway. You really want to put a tackle with a busted wheel, one coming off a major knee injury, or a guy that can't crack the Raiders roster on Bryce's blind side if Walker gets injured?

BREAKING: Panthers have interest in Deebo Samuel
SCMunnerlyn1 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
My SC bias aside. In this type of offense a gadget reciever like that is a good idea. But I figured that was the purpose of Jimmy Horn. -
Right now our only depth at T was cut from the worst offensive line in the NFL and we have nothing for next year except 1 year left on Moton, who already admittedly has knee concerns, though he minimizes them, which I would too for over 40m bucks. You have to draft for the future as well as the present. Being short sighted is why we ended up paying 2 guards 150m instead of drafting them when they were sitting right in front of us to take. If we end up paying Bryce 50-60M per season, we're going to need some guys on rookie contracts.

I'm pretty sure it will be earlier than we think. I think Canalas has a crush on this dude. He is the only qb so far that Carolina has met with. Not sure why he is ranked so low. Looks decent and hes got an arm.

Canes will play Seattle in the Global Series

Fire trip!! That’s awesome -
That seems to be the way it is playing out. We still do have next year but I want a QB next year unless Bryce is seriously not the same Bryce. So if a legit 1st round LOT for some reason happens to fall to us at 19? You have to take him. Need that 1st for maybe a QB in 2027, in case we would go Deal with Icky later, but he is an unknown as of the present.

Just looking at the free agent moves.. I can't see tackle in the first round. Sure it's possible, but you sign the best tackle available in walker, you sign stone, you have Ickey returning at some people and who's to say they don't bring back say brady Christensen or so. That said that's a lot of tackles your pay and all of them can't start. Your not drafting a guy who can't start Day 1. And if healthy walker and Moton are your day 1 starters.. that leaves us at tight end safety center(there isnt one in the first I don't think) DL and nickel which aren't that big a need and safety

Maybe my 50th birthday trip! -
It's so obvious that the split is imminent. At this point it's gonna be a shock to everyone if he's back next year.

BREAKING: Panthers have interest in Deebo Samuel

lol, apparently I also basically said the same thing in that thread (except for the XL part, which the idea of grew on me during this season when he still struggled) -

I said this before he was traded to Washington and people here wanted to pick him up. Not only is he still living off that one season, but he also needs to be used in a very specific and unique way to even try and replicate that, as he really didn't excel in any one area that year, he was just a unique jack of all trades that season. I also still think that if the team were to fully buy into the idea of it, we could turn XL into a similar type of player that Deebo was that year. Not a downfield threat, but a guy who gets a few handoffs, a few jet sweeps, some short crossers to put the ball in his hands early and let him run. We need to accept that XL just isn't going to be a great WR, but he could be a useful gadget guy in a role of Deebo or Cordarelle Patterson. But it would take full buy-in from both XL and the team as he'd need to work on his return game and handoffs over downfield receiving. -

Deebo is still living off the reputation of that one stellar season he had, but that was five years ago and it's a huge outlier of an anomaly in his career. -
That's his buyout. What's likely going to happen is that he resigns and we pay him out his buyout anyway which was honestly always the best path forward.

We literally have a national championship within the last 10 years and another championship appearance. In this period of irrelevance (I'm guessing "relative" was supposed to read "relevant") we've won 10% of the championships and appeared in 20% of the championship games.
