  2. Yea its iffy. It would be difficult to implement without moving to a soft cap/luxury tax model like NBA and MLB. NHL pulled off guaranteed contracts with a hard cap, but I don't think that's realistic outside the NHL. I don't think a luxury tax model would be good for the product, even if its good for the players. Even though we would probably benefit from it because Tepper would be like the dude who owns the NY Mets now.

  5. Exactly. It’s not about the number of dollars. It’s about cap allocation %. We got plenty of room for his salary and he’s gone after this season.
  6. This is where I feel like Tepper can throw his big wallet around to solve a problem. Scourton was the 19th pick of the round, even if a few more teams give fully guarantees, I can't see them all getting it. So don't give him the fully guaranteed deal, but give him a bigger signing bonus than his slot normally would get. It might piss off other owners for setting a new precedent of giving bigger signing bonuses, but it would help stop the fully guarantee precedent the agents are trying to make.
  7. I'd rather see what Scourton and Princely can be that bring on cheap contracts than bring in another rookie edge rusher who would need 1st round money.
  8. Where we tank in cap spending for the 2025 season by offensive skill position group: QB - 25th RB - 16th WR - 21st TE - 27th Folks, there's PLENTY to bitch about with the Carolina Panthers but bitching about overpaying a veteran backup QB and a veteran WR when the entire rest of the roster in those positions groups are on rookie contracts... I mean... LOL
  9. In the years since AT has been here, our defense have been BAD. Yet he's the reason we're losing now? This is great readying guys!!

  11. Looked all over and can't find out if we signed him or not.
  12. 3rd and Chandler Zavala.......... Id toss in Yohsi or Brano/DJ Johnson if that's what it took to get the trade done. Bungals need OL B-A-D Its un-godly to treat a unique HOF level level like Burrow with the OL they have and seems going to this year. People forgot during that bungal SB year, Burrow was sacked like 62 times and I believe had the highest hurries as well. They should be in jail for this, no memeing....
  13. I will admit this- Kon doesn't look or play like a 19 year. Much bigger and filled out than I thought he was. Plus initiate the offense during his best quarter and he did make some good passes for FG attempts. I watch NBA years ago and was a top 3 fantasy yahoo managers for years. Many times a player had like 30 points, it mostly came from one or 2 hot quarters. The others were 5 and 0, so his 16 point game is normal in that regard. If Ball, bridges, and Miller allow Kon to be apart of the team, just depends on if he clicks of not. Another generic white guy comp popped in my head........he of hornet lore-Gordon Hayward 15 points 5 rebs 3.5 asst Maybe??
  14. Here are a couple of links. Wish I had seen this before this past weekend as appears they had a big fundraiser event last week. https://sites.google.com/vollminadvisory.com/thewilmingtonarenaproject/home https://www.wwaytv3.com/wilmington-native-leads-push-for-new-multi-use-venue-to-attract-professional-hockey-team/ https://portcitydaily.com/latest-news/2025/07/13/wilmington-nonprofit-fundraising-for-10k-seat-arena-to-lure-pro-ice-hockey-team/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61577145613291
  15. Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams.
  16. That was real fear in his eyes when the rope was being taken. My younger days, I had my best friend that happened to be black come over all the time. I had the nicest bulldog on the planet, my friend Damon was scared to death of him. His grandmother and daddy taught him to fear all dawgs and seen the same fear in his face and voice. I think alllll young kids should take swimming lessons and not fear the water. Very thankful my parents did this, I no longer get in the ocean since its 50% sewage. But I enjoyed all the lakes, pools, and oceans I swam in.
  17. My personal opinion is the non-guaranteed contract is the main reason for NFL success. MLB and NBA players are on cruise control after their big contracts and it shows in the product. NFL is each year you are fighting for your job. Same for the majority of the public.... You get lazy or try to coast after the 100+ million contract, your ass will be cut within 1-2 years. Then the next one will not even touch 100 million+. Besides a few NBA players like Kobe was coming for blood with a 300 million contract or 1 doll hair deal. Brandy Beal just reached a buyout where he was getting 110 million, many other cases..... I dare say his name for the hornets guy..... MLB sooo many times as well. If the NFL starts fully guaranteeing all contracts, Id have a new hobby to fill the hours of entertainment NFL gave me.
  18. It would be wild if he is allowed to go back to college but is still a Bengal when he returns to the NFL
  19. If there was a way to do cap compensation for elective retirement or injury forced retirement like Luke or Oher, I could see less argument for guaranteed.
  20. XL, I wanna party with you, cowboy. If he starts catching the ball he could end up as my favorite Panther of all time. Never seen anyone who enjoys life more than him.
  21. I loved the Waves and the Roosters. Sharks were fun on 50 cent night.
