I always looked at it like, you have to win your division. You build your team to do that, primarily, and secondary to that would be the rest of the league. But the division is what you have to win. As we just saw, a losing record gets you a home playoff game if you can just beat your division foes. 1st goal, every year.

I like when he said, "If you look at our schedule, we have a lot of "athletic" qb's this year." I think it's important to look at signings as such, in conjunction with the schedule each year may bring. I hadn't though of that before, necessarily.

If he is BPA, then yes. I am a believer in Dan at this point and hope that he doubles on his strat from last draft. T-Mac wasnt the biggest need, but at a first round position, over-drafting for need is bad. We had XL coming back (we didnt know he'd catch rabid Racoon Disease in the offseason and forget how to be even an acceptable WR), Thielen coming back (yes...old AF thielen was a 1k reciever) and Coker coming off a surprising season...if you asked RIGHT AT THIS SAME POINT LAST OFFSEASON if we should draft Defense or T-Mac where we were last year, I guarantee 70-80% would have said "WHY THE fug ARE WE TAKING A RECIEVER!?!?!". We're getting close, but you build a winning roster by Drafting studs in the first round and depth after, and Studs dont come from "Well we needed a Long Snapper", they come from "I dont care if we don't need a Receiver, That dude is THE DUDE"

I honestly don't care about NBA talent. Our last championship team was light on it. The team that went to the title game was light on it. I wanna win college games. I haven't watched a full NBA game in probably 15 years. I barely remember one and doners, whether their ours or elsewhere. It's one of the reasons why my hatred of duke has cooled. Their players don't hang around long enough for me to even know their names.

Should hopefully pick up a half-game on the Sixers and Heat tonight. Also possibly the Hawks and Magic.

Brother, I don't want to drop the amount of rage I have about BY and the fuging Pickett signing....when murray was free, tua was free, lance was about the same cost. But you know during practice when other teammates see and hear the passing for any of them compared to BY, he may cry right then.... It does feel like Dan and Tillis were told "make BY work, by any means". You recall the first plan was to drop 163 million on OGs to protect the little fellow.......then drafting WRs and they even signed his buddy WR this FA period..... I just go back to Dan Morgan wanting instill competition throughout the roster and T-H-A-T is your QB room ??? bloody hell, what a joke and disrespect to the whole roster outside that group....

Id drop this in here- I fully believe nearly ALLL the Tmac hate leading up to the draft came from the Panthers..... There was plenty and it was believable, cause many did just that. There was huge questions and about 85% of the huddle took the cheese hate. I do have this too- Banks has a broken feet and a history of feet/ankle issues. If he didn't, 19 would have been fair landing spot. Of course, but Prince spoke highly of him in a Twitter post....former teammates and all, but he still made the post and I haven't seen other players prince did so for.... Maybe the 51st on banks, but maaaaaannnn big men with broken feet broken its feels like it never ends well. I mean after brain, spine, I think Feet are the career killer leader. Draft DL feels weak in every way. Last morsel- there's a weak rumor of Panthers trading for DT Payne out on the vine....(his price I feel kills it, but new contract solves that for trades)....

If we go all in and sell out with Bryce as our QB, it will even more entrench the idea that Tepper is at minimum running the QB room for me. Now i could be wrong and Dan really is that confident in Bryce all by himself, but nothing this team has done in the past 3 offseasons leads me to believe that there hasnt been some noise from big T. He's admitted that he walks through the office making his opinion known. To me, Bryce's output has just not generated that kind of confidence that we are playoff worthy other than against the Rams. Against the SB champs, just damn.

I fully agree, just panthers are not agreeing..... I dare say his name, cause this feels like "I want to win NOW".....after all those seasons of losing and seeing the revenue take from that playoff game made him go "wow thats more rod stewart with Billy Joel made for me..." Those FA signings are a clear signal, they are going all-in and believe it.... If only that QB room had some hope there, I'd understand somewhat....

We have a great, Id say even perfect example of drafting OT on a team with Walker....plus Ill just toss in the solid respected vet Motown too. Green Bay used a 1st rounder to draft Jordan Morgan with the plan he's the LT. Short this story- Walker beat him badly, so bad they switched positions to OG cause using that 1st is too pricey to sit. That was in 2024, come 2025 in steps a new fresh hope for LT 2nd rounder Anthony Belton..... Another 1st TKO by Walker and the same "ooo my god try him at OG to save face"... Walker clear winner both times. I think even if the Panthers had first pick of OT, that guy is not unseating Walker or Motown. Now to talk out of both sides, Id still say using the 1st on OT is a wise move.......but if you believe panthers are in win-now mode and worry about 2027 in 2027 and factor in Walker beating any and all young pups..... the thing is, if this goes well enough...... Walker will want to re-sign here and he's still young for a LT...plus my god LT are the hardest spot to fill. Then Ickey makes a full recovery(just go along for now)...now you have 32 Motown, Icky back on a cheaper RT deal, and a happy LT Walker. Just making a case and filling in some history, now I still want to draft OT, just maybe not as hot to use the 1st with landing Walker..... I mean isnt using the 4th or one of the 5th better and smarter to develop a OT rather than 1st where you need to score TDs or stop them? But Im with you tho....AND I understand what I feel the panthers will do.

I hope we're not going all in this year. We couldn't outright win our own division with a losing record. We had 2 anomalous wins. Typically you aren't going to win scoring 13 and have your opponent have an absolute train wreck offense. Also, a team scoring 16 on 6 trips to the red zone is not normal either. I'm not trying to be a pessimist. We're not there. Bryce isn't there. Most of the year our offense legitimately struggled and the missing piece wasn't a TE. Keep building through the draft and reasonable FA. When we have a team that's on the edge of being able to make a legitimate SB run, then go all in. Otherwise, going all in right now feels like another Bryce situation. Sell out and pray. That's not how consistent winners are built.
