  1. Past hour
  2. Panthers were the first game without Tyreek iirc
  3. It’s an interesting debate. I don’t think anyone would actually want Eli as their QB. The only other guys that fit that mold are from a bygone era. I will say those 2 wins were way more impactful than all the ridiculous stat padding that goes on in the modern era at QB.
  4. I guess that is my thing, I never viewed him as top tier. Despite his couple of magical years. I am not campaigning against him or anything, not that invested, just feel like he is a notch below the bar. I appreciate the different perspectives.
  5. Dude what? I said I wanted Cam’s career to be LONGER. You’ve lost it.
  6. 5 players get voted in every year, in a league that has 8 non special teams position groups (7 if you group WRs and TEs together like with OL, DL, DB). Cutting it down to 7 players means all of those players are clearly worthy and should be HOFers. To then need to achieve a certain threshold of a re-vote amongst those 7 players is such an absurd idea. If this were the Basketball HOF, where players get in where you say "is that guy really a HOFer?" then I wouldn't have such an issue with it. But the NFL HOF is one where every year you have people saying they can't believe so and so wasn't voted in this year and nobody ever questions if a player who got in was actually worthy of the honor. There are lots of players in the HOF who wouldn't have gotten in with this voting method. That those are the people who were allowed to vote to make this change to now ensure players who are worthy of it will never get in, is just mind boggling. It's just ruined the appeal of the NFL HOF to me, which is sad, because it genuinely was the best HOF out there. It's not Basketball where you have unworthy players included, it's not Baseball where worthy players are excluded by holier than thou journalists who vote. It really was the most pure HOF, limits the number of players who can get in every year but never putting unworthy players into its hallowed halls.
  7. Can't help but notice more and more of these very loudly outspoken Bryce Young defenders beginning a sentence about our only MVP in franchise history this way. Telling.
  8. I thought the same and surprised it hasn't been brought up
  9. This was probably the highlight of the season for some on here.

    Classless

lol I thought this thread was gonna be about Russell Wilson (Mr. Politician who only ever says nice things about everyone) trashing Sean Payton for being the classless piece of poo that he is
  11. Well some guys leave no room for doubt. The worst thing I have seen anyone say recently was I said he and Horn were difference makers and someone said not so much. Good but not elite. Sure people were still trying to evaluate him early on, like most guys.
  12. You'll have to have a conversation with that poster to get more on their thoughts. But these kinds of uncomfortable discussions have existed with every single QB who has started games for this team for an extended period of time. We cannot act as if Bryce Young is the only one who has faced tough questions and it's completely unfair and doing so is only going to have the complete opposite effect of what you seek because he is not a mid round pick or Mr. Irrelevant.
  13. Cam had to play that way to win. We could of just lost games to keep him healthy I guess.
  14. Quintessential cinderella story athlete, and did it twice. Plus good counting stats and was a top 2nd tier QB his whole career. He should absolutely be in.
  15. Brady absolutely would do anything to win. Look at this sneak.
  16. I can buy that. They have bigger issues than Bryce’s sprained ankle to draw their attention.
  17. His durability was like the last negative I would look to in size related critique. Uh, evaluating him. There have been plenty of small/short players at other positions that were tough as hell. RB, WR, some DBs and returners. And how tall was Sam Mills? His height, we know restricts his vision. His size inhibits ball security. Big time. I mean that could be attributed more to his lack of strength but it comes under size I suppose. I get that throwers don’t want that upper body too bulked and tightened up but he should have been building his base it doesn’t appear that he has done much.
  18. The post may be classless but the play wasn't. Jets have nothing else to hype and probably didn't make the connection to the injury before posting
  19. He helped keep the pats from having a perfect season. He should get in for doing every NFL fan that favor. lol
  20. Idk, I loved Cam, but would have loved him a lot more with a longer career. Tom Brady won plenty of titles without running through brick walls.
  21. .500 qb, but he happened to show up very big in 2 specific games. It really all gets down to a vote on how valuable are Superbowl wins, compared to an entire career. I don't know if he deserves HOF, but I am not a voter, and I think he is in.
  22. His style of play lends itself to not be injured too much. Then you watch someone like Baker or Dart and they are willing to run through a brick wall to score or get a first down. Now for obvious reasons Young shouldn't play that way but it will be hard to ever contend for a title with his safe style of play.
  23. And Miami wasn't bad at the time we played them
  24. So it was brought up in a thread about the Jets social media celebrating that specific play, and the post says “this is the biggest thing I hate about Bryce Young”, but it is in no way blaming him for going down on that particular play? That’s a lot of suspension of disbelief you’re asking. I suppose all the hair pulling in the game day thread about it as soon as the play happened was coincidence as well. I’d be curious how much of your perception on this is confirmation bias. There’s plenty of plays he doesn’t go down with minimal contact. There’s plays I’m sure I’ve looked at as a slip on the turf that you’ve looked at as going down on minimal contact. Legitimately curious what the actual data is.
  25. PFR puts together a pretty solid hall of fame "monitor" and the one for TE matches my view on Greg pretty closely: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_TE.htm First back to back 1000 yards is a cool milestone but not HOF worthy. He had a stretch of 5 solid-great years but with just 2 2nd team All Pro nods in that timeframe. Rest of his career outside those 5 years doesn't move the needle. If he didn't have the foot issues late in his career here and extended those 5 years to like 8 then I think he'd have a better case. But without much personal hardware, no significant career stat milestones and no team hardware I just don't really see him getting in. Would love it for him if he did, he's one of my favorite all time Panthers (obviously).
  26. Bingo. Two rings and he played absolutely out of his mind in those two runs. It wasn't like he got carried to those rings. I get that he was inconsistent throughout his career but in those two SB runs he was HIM. Do I think he's a top level HOFer? Honestly, no. But I couldn't be mad about the guy getting in.
