  1. Past hour
  2. I think we’re reaching here. He’s a second year WR who had some ill timed moments where he choked. That’s nothing to do with the jugs. That’s nerves and taking your head out the game. He knows how to catch a ball. He just has to adjust the NFL pressure.
  3. I didn’t hate the pick. I like the dude and think he’s a cool cat, but this validates everyone who has said that he lacks a dawg mentality. It also helps to explain why he would snag some really difficult catches and drop others that look pretty routine. I sincerely hope he has truly committed to becoming a professional because I know Coker enjoyed the read.
  4. I take it as he always had really good hands in college so he took it for granted and focused on routes and other things that are actual adjustments from college to pros and his catching focus suffered from it. Of the end of the world if he gets back on track.
  5. Gotcha. I will alter my statement to say I’m not one to criticize people for the way they word things. Particularly XL. I’d rather just sit back and see how he develops.
  6. I think they just find guys that are most likely to get opportunities and it is an easy pick here with how our linebacker room looks right now.
  7. Today
  8. I wasn't trying to criticize the grammar at all. It's the way he worded it. Sounds like a chore. I would rather him "love" his job. I want him to want it.
  9. That's what I meant with the tuck. It should be muscle memory. I hope he turns out to be the star we all hope him to be. He's a player my wife has attached to, so I am definitely rooting for him.
  10. Demani can end up being a player, the opportunity is there for him, I think he would be the best FS we have.
  11. How many rookies do you think this happens to? After you get drafted you think you have made it. It's encouraging for him to realize the folly of his ways, let's see if he can capitalize.
  12. Meh I would rather hear him admit his mistakes than just pretend like he's been doing everything right. All that matters are the results on the field. Let's see that and go from there before bashing him just for being honest.
  13. While most will understand that he has learned from mistakes as a rookie, others who did not like the pick to begin with will use this to fuel their hatred.
  14. Yesterday
  15. I understand your point but I’m not one to criticize grammar. Particularly that from XL. I took it to be an honest admission and answer. We 100% agree XL Is flawed and like you, I’m not very high on him either regarding his ceiling but I’m not gonna poo on him for being honest and saying he has regrets about some things and wants to change and get better. My question is can he get better and what does that look like.
  16. Two ALARMING things here ... "Oh man, it’s always been something I’ve done, and I don’t know why, but I felt like I could take a little breath,' " 1) He had this mentality as a ROOKIE, when you've accomplished NOTHING to take a "breath". and 2) That he is STUPID enough to admit it. "Jugs" work to receptions in an NFL game is as "jugs" work in a strip club are to getting a girlfriend. They both make you feel good, but neither is practical in real life.
  17. According to Anthony Rizzuti of Panthers Wire, the four standouts are (FWIW): Hunter Renfrow Jimmy Horn Princely Umanmielen Demani Richardson The Huddle has discussed Renfrow, Horn, and Umanmielen. There hasn't been too much discussion about Richardson
  18. Dean Jones of Cat Crave does provide a relatively lot of Panthers content. Granted, some of it seems like forced filler with a "clickbaity" title, but he provides food for thought sometimes. Now he's saying, "Panthers may have found their Josey Jewell replacement without even trying." Of course, I don't think that teams do any acquisitions without trying; team building is about detail. That aside, Jones referred to an article by Bleacher Report's Brett Sobleski, an NFL analyst that suggests that Martin-Scott has a legit shot at making the team due to the Panthers' quality and lack of depth at the LB position. "An upward trajectory is what every NFL team is looking for when it comes to a young player entering the professional ranks. Carolina Panthers linebacker Bam Martin-Scott fits the bill. He is an aggressive defender with a quick trigger, and he's going to deliver a blow upon contact. Those traits can also take him out of position. Still, he has "admirers" among the Panthers' coaching staff, according to Darin Gantt of the team's official site. The Panthers aren't particularly deep or good at linebacker, which opens a pathway for anyone to secure a spot." Now I don't know how good we'll be. As a Panthers fan, admittedly, I think that we're going to be better, but I think the play of Trevin Wallace will go a long way towards making or breaking the room as a whole. I'd also add that Christian Rozeboom is coming off his best season (and can hopefully be somewhere in the vicinity of Jewell in terms of play). But we're not necessarily either good or deep at the position on paper, and like Dean Jones thinks, I expect us to add an experienced vet. But I'd like to ask the opinions of the Huddle, of which many are South Carolina fans, does Martin-Scott have a realistic chance of being a replacement level LB, much less a legit NFL starter. You've seen him play, so what's the deal? He has his "admirers" among the the coaches, but is it really warranted, and if so how much? https://catcrave.com/panthers-may-have-found-josey-jewell-replacement-without-even-trying

  20. Point taken, but he has to learn. I'd say that he certainly had problems with drops, but I don't remember any fumbling issues. He's young. I don't know that he was talking about thinking about improving while he's literally playing, as much as he's thinking about improving catching before regular season begin. The good thing about the Jugs machine, and any type of practice, is that it leads to muscle memory, which of course leads to not having to think about playing, but just playing. We'll hope for the best.
  21. I mean, I think that we've been using them, but, like you're suggesting, maybe to a higher degree now. I would caution though to not take it out of context. It's simply a tool. The importance of it and its priority can't really be judged by us from the outside looking in. On kind of an off note, sure PFF (CFF) had Bryce ranked as the highest rated QB when he came out, but I heard a PFF analyst say that "stature" was very important in the discussion between Young and Stroud as well, and honestly he didn't know that Young would or should be the first taken. Context and the bigger picture hav to be taken into account.
