  1. Past hour
  2. I just meant in general our ability to generate pressure comes from sending an extra guy Id have to imagine our pressure rate when only rushing 4 is at or near the very bottom And with 3rd downs typically being passing downs… that’s the issue
  3. His confidence pushing the ball down the field got shattered early. His first game against the Falcons I still remember the Jessie Bates picks and then the first possession first game against the Saints last year in Canales first year he tried to fit it in a tight window in the middle of the field and got picked. He just doesn't have the arm strength for this league.
  4. Honestly, I might have to take a look at the 3rd down pressure/blitz rates. I don't think we blitz on 3rd down very often.
  5. I do think Rozebum may be near the league leader in missed tackles. Let me verify. Edit: Tied for 9th in the NFL with 17.
  6. They have to draft Sonny Styles just for the name but also for the 0% missed tackle rate
  7. This is why a legitimate pass rusher will be Dan’s top priority this offseason We’re dependant on sending an extra guy to generate pressure and unless it gets home we’re toast
  8. I knew that soft zone bullshit sucked on third down but I didn't realize it was 31st
  9. Maybe Bryce would come out throwing those 15 yard bombs!
  10. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47451548/2025-nfl-playoff-teams-weaknesses-concerns-flaws-afc-nfc#TB Carolina Panthers FPI chance to win Super Bowl: 0.5% Concerning weakness: Third-down defense The Panthers' defense has a very hard time getting off the field. Carolina ranks 15th on first down by DVOA and 13th on second down. Yet they rank 31st on third down, ahead of only the Cowboys. If you prefer more conventional stats, they rank 31st in conversion rate allowed on third downs; opponents move the sticks 46.7% of the time against the Panthers on third down and 63.6% of the time on fourth down. The Panthers managed to force two turnovers on third down against the Rams in their Week 13 upset, but this is not a trend that has gotten any better in recent weeks. And the top offenses on third down this season include the 49ers, Packers, Eagles and Rams.
  11. the signs were there. He told the media that Morgan was going to pick him. Pure, unbridled, dumbassery.
  12. He's terrible after the injury. He's allowing a near perfect QB rating.
  13. I cannot recall a first round draft pick this overwhelmingly football stupid. Efe Obada had more football awareness and his football background was almost nothing.
  14. Yeah. My thing with Bryce is that he can. He just doesn't. I know some don't think he can throw a deep ball, or fit passes into tight windows, or even throw in the middle. He can. He has. It's just that some games he just doesn't. For whatever reason. That's the most confusing part. The inconsistency is mind numbing for me. I'd love to see Canales just force him to let it loose. Teach him to read deep to shallow. Check downs for him should only be if he's moved from his spot. Period. He wasn't like this at Alabama. I think we broke him.
  15. Bryce looking like a 6th grader next to Olsen
  16. I try to look at him through rose-colored glasses when I can because I think they are going to "die on this hill (Bryce). At least bring in some comp. The mentor/best buddies backup situation is not healthy competition, and I will be pissed if we give Bryce a $50m per contract. I am in the minority when I see the potential for our future QB in this draft. Players like Mateer, for example, from Oklahoma. A substandard 2025 has dropped his stock to where he could fall to day 3, but his skill set, demeanor, and stats from Washington State tell me there is something there. I think he could be there in round 3 if he comes out. I would feel better about Bryce if I knew we were developing plan B.
  17. Yeah the point of the tush push isn't that it's deceptive. It's that you can't do anything about it.
  18. Not all mental mistakes are penalties. Things like giving a 15-yard cushion when the first down marker is at 10. Not dragging your feet near the sidelines. Giving up contain to chase the dive on play action. Running bad routes. Not reading quick enough. Taking bad angles. etc. I see your point, but hesitation is not a penalty, nor is confusion. I agree that talent is our main issue. We are not getting our money's worth out of our OL, imo. We need a #2 and don't really scare people at TE. Our LBs are weak and we have an issue at S. We get little pressure on the QB.
  19. Today
  20. Aaron Curry 2.0. Perfect example of why there's no such thing as a sure thing in the draft. Sometimes even the safest looking picks where you think worse case scenario this guy is gonna be a decent NFL player and help a team still end up busting sometimes.
