strato started following Baldinger on the 2026 LB Class
-
I want an ILB this year. And I really like seeing what Brian Baldinger thinks. He was killing it on Derrick Brown this year. Last year. He is apparently is going through every position for pre draft evaluations. This is video of his ILB evaluation. Put other videos here too if you want.

Nah he's going first round. If I had to guess, he'll get drafted by a contender at the end of the first. He kinda screams Joe Brady IMO. It wouldnt shock me to see Dan pick a WR @ 19 but we should probably be looking at Tyson before Concepcion. If I HAD to go WR, I'd have my eyes on Lemon too. I don't think anyone knows our true intentions. One thing is forsure though... somebody ranked high is going to drop to us.

https://x.com/panthersbreakd/status/2039460655757922331?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA Following Pro Day today, Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. will head to Carolina for a 30 visit with the Panthers, per source. They’ve done a lot of work on receivers and Cooper Jr. could be an option at No. 19 overall

I am trying to remember when I EVER said reach for need. My thing if someone falls you jump, if you can trade back a few slots and get help at the right value and pick up some ammo to move up from 51 which I think is outside the money zone, then you do that. Take a WR later. Plenty of capable WRs have come from the 3rd round. Though this year I would go for C there if there was a reasonable choice. Take a TE if you must. I see more reason to take WR than TE. I think you give guys drafted two years ago and last year a chance to develop before cancelling them. I think it is kind of unrealistic to throw everything all in on offense in hopes of going deep in the playoffs after an 8-10 year, even if it did have some nice bright spots in it. And outside of this argument but relevant to it, I am bothered by Canales and Morgan and their apparent posture that we have arrived and are now in the big boy club. I don’t know where that comes from. They are out there talking like they are winners at 8-10. Backing into the playoffs in a real convoluted tie breaker scenario. They had some good games, yes. But the big feather n the cap, the LA Rams matchups, did you see what the Rams did? They didn’t fire the coaches but they fired their defensive backs. Bryce beat them yes, and it was pretty, but it was kind of like the Bucs and Mike Evans picking on our decimated secondary in 2022. Someone (Wilks) went down for allowing that to happen and they went down in LA too. Wr aren’t as good as a whole lot of homers think we are. Shore up the trenches. I think too many fans buy into it because they are so starved for anything that looks like a winner.

2025 Draft Re-Grades (Or, One Idiot Doubles Down)
Raskle replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
How exactly does one win OROY "by default"? Wouldn't winning the award mean that of the two, McMillon stayed strong the entire year while the other guy didn't and fizzled out? That's like saying Secretariat only won by default because the other horse stopped moving midway through the race. Absolutely zero logic in that statement, which makes me very glad that I've never really paid much attention to Walterfoozball. -
I agree, teams in the past have fired the HC in order to retain a coach on staff...hell it happened to Mcderp this year, rams in the past and Im missing another. The fall off for the Panthers team defense was huge once Mcderp leftd and Ron could not fix it even when he named himself DC.

There are different variables that you would have to include and consider. McDermott coached a franchise that was well ran and made good decisions overall for a number of years. Who could say how McDermott would have done on his own with the musical chairs and mismanagement of the Panthers FO through those years? But you also have to acknowledge the fact that Rivera's best years were with McDermott on staff. Rivera in the win loss column without him just isn't a pretty picture. From a head to head standpoint it is McDermott and it isn't close.

2025 Draft Re-Grades (Or, One Idiot Doubles Down)

Of all the concerns to highlight work ethic and passion for football is as lazy as it gets. All you have to do is watch an interview with him and his rookie highlights to see that is the farthest thing to be concerned about. Now getting him well placed throws on a consistent basis....that's another discussion. -
I think if McD had been where he was when he went to be a HC, development wise, and had time traveled to be hired in 2011, we would have been better over the long haul. It is just speculation, so big deal.

Three of those guys are 1 year rentals, and yes I'm including TMo. He's only going to be guaranteed as starter this coming season and that's if he holds up another season. We have no depth to speak of to boot. I think they need to start considering the future of the offensive line and grab great talent from the draft when it presents itself. They cannot afford to pass on olinemen when these guys are sitting there at our pick again.

Where are the concerns about work ethic and passion for football? Are they in the room with us now? -
You can only build around a passer that has the prerequisite physical talent to keep defenses honest at all levels. You can work around spotty accuracy you can work around spotty decision making. But you cannot work around lack of physical tools that results in the job of the defense being made easier by default on any given snap. We have not been able to do that and will not be able to do that no matter how many weapons we add. Furthermore regardless if the blueprint for the success of your fourth year #1 pick is to expect everyone else to do the lifting guess what? You need a QB.

Phillips and Lloyd are "first round" contributors (like that makes all the difference). I'm not arguing anything except that it's not a recipe for success to draft based upon need. To me, and it's just my opinion, I don't know why someone would argue against any first rounder as long as they bring the value because that's actually what we should be looking for. To me, to go into a draft saying that we're going to draft an inferior player at a certain position and skip the player that is superior simply because it would be three times in a row is just silly considering that you still need to shore up the position.

And it was about time. Precious little had been done. Scourton and Princely last year. A 2nd and a 3rd. That almost levels out what was spent on Bryce alone. Almost. So okay, you are caught up there. Not counting DJ and allowing a 3rd to wash that 2nd 2nd rounder we paid to draft him. Then, you can start with extra 1st and 2nds to tally that up. And further, if we spend the 19 on offense this year, it makes 5 straight years (!) of denying the defense a 1st round contributor. I don’t see how you can argue that and don’t know why you would.

Thats IT, the NFL press has chosen to trash the Panthers this off-season. Not falling for this rage-bait BS. Before FA started LLoyd, Walker, and Phillips were in dang near everyones top 15 list with a live brain, some had each in the top 5........ They get two well under the market projections along with other good solid moves. Dan gets philly for a 7th for a guy no-one can believe was worth that low amount. Panthers draft results- Nic starter, Fitz 4 GWers, Everyone from horn down had a impact. great draft, media- "it was barely a C-" Media- "Panthers are mehhhh" Plus Dan stole a trade package from the Vikings, I bet these tards give that a D- too...... Forget anything from these turkeys this year, a waste of interwebs space....
