Bryce Young now leads the NFL in game-winning drives since his debut
kungfoodude replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Huh? He "only" had 5 4th Quarter Comebacks in 2003. Where are you getting this "trailed in the 4th quarter 12 out of 16 games?" We only ENTERED the 4th quarter trailing 6 total times and we went 3-3 in those games. -
Makes me wonder. Yesterday was a rare day when our receivers didn't just get open and make catches but also get YAC. Was part of that reason because we were rather static on where we lined up our guys until now, especially with who is effectively our best receiver? In other words, we surprised the Falcons by exploiting matchups far more than we had before?

Atlanta at home this year. Without looking, what else? And really, you get a GWD for a 30-0 game? -
50% of those nominees were Panthers 1st round draft picks.

I think thats the more likely answer, they wanted to have him focus on that role most likely. The more you diversify his route tree the more complicated it gets for a rookie, but I think him doing it so well this week has shown that he absolutely can get and excel at that. look for a lot more going forward.

3 TO's and 17 penalties.

Jake Delhomme had 7 game winning drives in 2003 and we won 11 out of 16 games. By this logic, game-winning drives prove Jake was a bad QB because we trailed in the 4th quarter in 12 out of 16 games. -
I'll let the clip be the judge. I tend to be cynical about these things.

Cool, now do his wins where the game isn't decided in the 4th quarter/OT. Hint: You could be missing all you toes and fingers to count on just leaving your thumbs, there's a 50/50 shot of being right. -

There is definitely something fishy about this. I mean his win total is 10 games in 3 seasons. If I counted correctly. The only ten games we won, he gets a GWD every time? And wait a mi Ute how could he have one vs the Jets when Dalton finished the game? When other guys have 30 wins in 3 years and don’t have that near that many? That is a bullshit stat in some way. -
He'd have to do a hell of a lot more to be in that conversation. This was a great game, no doubt, but there's been a lot more I'd rather forget than remember.

They really sped up his response

It was a great game for just about anybody and I don’t see him ever having a better one lol. If it is just the air part I would agree he deserves it. Allen had 6 TDs but 3 were running. And 2 picks.
