What's up everyone, long time! It's been about 10 years since I logged on, I figured I'd make a return on here after all these years and what better time than now? I was looking through some pictures yesterday from the playoff run in 2015 and the tailgates we put on back then before Charlotte changed so drastically and kept tearing down our lots, thought it might be fun to come on here and say hello. I'd love to start a nostalgia thread in the Panthers forum so everyone can post their pics from way back. Hope all of you are doing well, in good health, and ready for the start of the revival of this franchise. I'm feeling the most optimistic I have in 10 years, looking forward to my kids hopefully seeing a legit team for the first time in their lives. I mean, why make it more than it is? Jones just tries to produce content, whatever it is, and the article is based on another's opinion about UDFAs who have the best shot at making the NFL for each team (and we see these types of articles every year). I don't think anyone is necessarily trying to hype Bam Martin-Scott. In fact, I'd gather that most NFL types, including these writers, would bet that we add a starter-level LB before the regular season. In the meantime, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

It is unbelievable how some of yall are taking this as confirmation that he's no good and doesn't have the mindset it takes.

Would much rather have the guy that realized his problems early and worked to fix them, than to have the guy that never figures it out, is out the league, and blames the organization (or others) for his lack of success.

X just needs to let his main thing be the main thing. If he exels at football, all of the other off field things will be there.

There's always training camp hype trains. Not just here, but everywhere across the league. A guy will have a good day or two and some people will act like that is going to translate into a major role then the guy gets released a couple weeks later and they're shocked and appalled. Happens every year with every team.

He doesn't have to beat out Coker. He has to beat out David Moore.

Finally was able to watch the YouTube post of the Supermen video. It was really well done. Curious how they couldn't get NFL clearance for showing specific game clips, as one would think it'd fall under fair use "news and analysis" criteria. Maybe it was related to the number of minutes of NFL footage they'd need overall which hit a threshold that went beyond a news and analysis criteria. (shrug)

Horn can make it. Baring injury, the WR room is most likely Thielen, XL, TMac, Coker, Renfro, Horn, and maybe David Moore at #7. Renfro is a lock at this point.

I have never seen this cat play a single snap of football, BUT, I really hope that we're not counting on a 25 yo, UDFA who played 6 years of college ball to suddenly replace our starting LB. Sounds to me like Dean Jones needed a story and didn't have anything else to write about. Wishing the guy luck though, cool nickname.

I'll go 1 further than that. This 23 year old had spent 4 years as a middle of the pack college player before exploding onto the scene as a 5th year senior, then we have enough faith in him to trade up 1 spot so that we can get a 5th year option and guarantee his salary. So in about a year's time he went from a mid round pick to a first rounder. It would be hard NOT to let that go to your head! I'm going to trust that the staff know what they're doing with XL and not give him too much crap about being a dumbass LAST season, as long as he doesn't continue to be one.

He grew up playing pee wee football in Fort Wayne, Ind., but developed late and was mostly a part-time player until his senior year at Snider High (alma mater of Jessie Bates). He posted 87 tackles and 6.0 sacks as a senior in 2018, but it wasn’t enough to put him on the recruiting radar. A no-star recruit, he played two seasons with Dodge City (Kan.) Community College and then received several SEC offers. His playing time and production gradually increased each season for the Gamecocks, and he put intriguing flashes on film. Martin-Scott is a good-sized athlete, with pursuit speed to match races to the perimeter. He competes with a banger mentality to pinball off blocks and stay determined on his path to the ball. Overall, Martin-Scott freelances a tad too much with inconsistent steps in coverage, but he is a classic run-and-hit linebacker who likes to play loose and chase plays — necessary ingredients for NFL special teams. grade: Free Agent

He stood out at times at Carolina, but he never struck me as an NFL linebacker. I’m pulling for him though. Would be great for him and the Panthers if he sticks.
